this guy is going against what every englishman really wants by standing side by side with you yanks on everything bush decideds to do .

as terrible as 9/11 really was , if it was london that dusty bin laden would have hit , there is no way that bush would be side by side with blair in a 'war on terrorism' .

Iron Eagle, maybe you don't want your country getting caught up in a war with these Islamic terrorists, but let me ask you this: what would you have done, if on September 11th, planes had of crashed into your Parliment Building, or Buckingham Palace, killing thousands? Would you not accept America as a friend and Ally in your war on terrorism?

I'm a Canadian, and the same head-in-the-sand attitude is up here: we don't want to get involved in a war with Iraq. But I'll bet if terrorists decided to strike the financial district of downtown Toronto, or hit a couple of our nuclear power plants, Canadians would think differently.

And don't fool yourself: these terrorists aren't just after Americans........they'll kill ANYONE who can't repeat "Allah be praised" a thousand times a day. Blair is smart to support Bush on this. You think Saddam Hussein didn't know in advance about September 11th? Think again. That guy's got lots of weapons ready to use again, and he'll do it.

What is the WORST job you ever had?

well my worst two jobs had to be when i lived in mexico about three years ago.

i got a job as a telemarketer.

I worked in a cream-cheese factory for one whole week. I now know what hell is like.

You stand in a line waiting for the hot cream cheese to blob down, then you had to pick it up and wrap it. You had celaphane gloves on, which just made it hotter and hotter till you could barely stand it. I complained to the foreman who did absolutely nothing about it.

Anyway, after our "break", *when I seriously considered running out the door and never coming back), me and this 60 year old man had to lug these 30 lb. boxes of cream cheese that hadn't "processed" right, up these metal stairs, and empty them back into the huge boiling pots to be processed again. You'd get splashed with boiling hot cream cheese and scream your head off.........not that anybody gave a damn.

I still shudder when I think about it.

some subjects seem to re-appear almost on a daily basis.

noticeable by it's absense has been the subject of aids.

i think possibly this doesn't get discussed here becuase it is one of the few hot topics which goes in favour of the witnesses.

Speaking of AIDS, here is a link that talks about the first documented case of someone who healed themselves of AIDS. Excellent reading to anyone suffering from this disease. My own experience with doctors has not been good. They're never positive and the only dwell on the negative. Not one doctor I saw when I first found out I had cancer, suggested that I change my eating habits, meditate, or anything else.

AIDS is a horrible disease, but one does not need to die from it. The problem is, you have to help YOURSELF. With enough courage, support and determination, this disease need not be fatal.

ADVICE NEEDED

i need some advice on this one: a friend of mine who is still an active jw called me today all freaked out because another friend of hers, who only got baptized this summer, wants to leave "the truth".

this is because she's been talking to "worldly" people and they've almost got her convinced that the religion is a cult.. .

my girlfriend, sarah says of course, that this is "satan" trying to blind her, etc.

Detective, I've thought of going alot the lines of what you suggested. It's a good way to be subtle, but to get the person to think a bit too......

I don't know who this other person is who wants to leave, so I can't really talk to her, but if I find out who it is, I might be able to.

The Practice - child molester "not guilty&...

did anyone else see last night's airing of the practice?

the firm defended a guy accused of repeated molesting a teen-age boy.

the guy even admitted to his lawyers that he did it.

Surely you jest. Lawyers are the most corrupt people on the planet and they HAVE no morals. Look at these scumbag lawyers that are the defense lawyers for the Snipers! They're trying to get all kinds of evidence suppressed, even though they know full well that their clients are guilty, guilty, guilty!!

I swear to god, that lawyers are deprogrammed in law school, so that there's not twinge of guilt when they get a low life scum bag off scot free.

Defence lawyers seem to forget that their job is to see that their clients get a FAIR trial and to see that justice is done. Their job is NOT to try and use every trick in the book to get a guilty person off, but unfortunately, that's exactly what happens.

This is because she's been talking to "worldly" people and they've almost got her convinced that the religion is a cult.

My girlfriend, Sarah says of course, that this is "Satan" trying to blind her, etc. etc. and she wants to talk to her to try and convince her to stay. Sarah is a wonderful girl, I really, really like her, but of course, she's been blinded into believing that this is the one true religion. And of course, as fate would have it, she wants my advice on how to handle it. (of all the ironies!)

I've never told Sarah that I know this ISN'T "the truth", as I think it could really damage her. She's told me before that, even though half the people at the Hall piss her off with their arrogant attitude, she does believe that this is Jehovah's organization and that it's been her saving grace.

Should I tell her the truth about the religion, or should I remain quiet? Personally, I think I should keep quiet, but I want some others opinions too.

ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO

here's a program i'll definitely want to see on november 22nd.

i believe that a ufo did in fact, crash there in 1947 and that there was a cover up.. if it were proven that it was a ufo, how would that affect our society, religion in particular?.

Larc, I think you're questions are pretty narrow minded......you're asking these questions with OUR technology in mind.

How long does it take to travel from New York to London? On the Concorde, it takes 3 1/2 hours. How much food would you have to supply to get there? Well, I figure each passenger probably gets a few drinks and one meal.

Now; go back in time 300 years and talk to someone who traveled from England to America. How long did it take them to get there? Probably 2 or 3 weeks. How much food did they have to take? Well, lots. Enough for each person to eat 3 meals a day for 2 or 3 weeks.

Try explaining to these people who lived 300 years ago, that you had the technology to cover the same distance in only 3 1/2 hours and you only needed one meal. They simply couldn't comprehend such a thing and would probably have you burnt at the stake.

Just because mankind hasn't developed the technology yet to travel great distances in space, doesn't mean it can't be done or that another civilization hasn't done it. I saw Stephen Hawking on a documentary a while ago, talking about the possibility of space travel. The jest of it was: if you could create or use a wormhole in space, travel to distant planets would become a reality. Obviously, we have not developed the technology yet to do such a thing, but like I said: that doesn't mean someone else hasn't.

Assuming that we are the only one's in the universe is parallel to the Catholic Church's midevel belief that the earth was the center of the universe.

Astrology is a bunch of crap........how could the lining up of planets possibly have anything to do with what's going to happen to me in life??

I love reading my horror scope (haha) sometimes.........I keep getting promised that I'll either find "true love" or be "financially rewarded" in some mysterious way.............

And if you believe this sort of crap, I've got two twin towers in New York City to sell you........

Going in service on holidays

remember how embarrassing it was to show up at someone's door on a holiday?when i was a teenager i went out with a very zealous pioneer sister on christmas day.we worked an upscale neighborhood of town and of course all the servants were off so they would answer the door themselves.i rang one doorbell and a lady came to the door and i could see her family inside sitting in chairs in a circle opening gifts.they all looked at me to see who in the world was calling on christmas,i suppose.i gave my presentation with a red face and she just looked at me and said"don't you know today is christmas?

"how embarrassing is that?so glad i don't have to do that anymore.

I went out ONCE on Christmas day years ago........a very zealous pioneer convinced me to come out with the rest of them so I did. We must have gotten all the right houses cause everyone who opened their doors were already bombed and we got invited in to a bunch of parties.

So although my experience wasn't that bad, I would never do it again. People want to get together with their families and friends and want to enjoy the holiday, not have religion shoved down their throats.
