i joined this forum a while ago and am mostly a lurker these days, don't have much time to post.

but i have a conundrum i need some help with.

i have mostly successfully faded from the organization, and i was a witness my whole life.

tell them you have developed social anxiety and have a hard time around groups of people. or just be honest most wont pry when taken off guard and just talk about your child.

you really can't make this stuff up.

but an organization like the wt society bent on controlling virtually every aspect of the typical jehovah's witness life - would make this up to keep their control through the use of fear and guilt.

so- i thought i'd share what i thought was the strangest, most offensive, weird language dealing with what the wt society calls " disfellowshipping offenses " .

im just about at 14 weeks.

i thought i had the answers to all, until i got that "positive" on the pregnancy test.

AwSnap Congrats!!!! to answer your question any surface that is flat and washable will do as a changing surface, and don't worry about dealing with dub relatives until your have to. My wife and i have 3 kids and the first pregnancy is the most exciting because everything is new, just enjoy it (and make your husband cook lots of food for you)

Creepy Talks

do any of you remeber any talks that were creepy in nature.for example i remember a talk where a brother said "when the end comes your friends and family will be against you" now if that is not crazy i don't know what is.i remember alot of talks regarding bible prophecy and the end times.all of this did not help reinforce the sense of fear since it was 2007-2008 and the united states was going through a recession.this just proved to be fuel for their talks.give good experiences of any talks that you have had that proved to be either weird or very creepy..

When my jw dies should I go to the service at the hall ?

i am been shunned by the rest of the jw family, and feel that to make a point when my dad dies my family( ex jw ) will not be going to the service at the kingdom hell.

we need to get our own back on these morons in the family and see how they like been shunned for not going to weddings and receptions in the family sod them all.. .

interesting take on a funeral for a familly member in a religion you can't stand. I'm dealing with something similar with my grandfather's failing health and how i am going to deal with the funeral.

High Profile Case: Seeking Reinstatement

but our situation is very difficult and quite high profile.... i was raised as a jw and my mother was very strict and abusive.

i got baptized at age 14.. my mother actually called on my (present) husband's mom in service.

she was on the initial call resulting in his mom coming in the truth and him being raised in it from about age 8 or 9.. despite a very abusive step-father, he followed his mom's lead and came into the truth.

Welcome headisspinning, and congratulations on your child. The first thing you should do is continue with therapy for your husband, yourself, and as a couple. You and your family are not alone and not outcast and do not deserve to be treated as such! As has been pointed out, you should reflect that it is a group of 'worldly' 'aposte' strangers that are trying to help you with your situation and whom you feel you can vent too and not people that you grew up with. As for the slander and gossip that is par for the course, if your case is as 'high profile' as you claim then the elders will make an example of you and your husband and will wait a long time to reinstate you. BUT THIS A BLESSING!!!! Use this time to focus on your family and truly examine your beliefs, do research not just with Watchtower material but from outside sources as well (try looking up the sources the WTS uses in thier books). Where there any dreams or hobbies that you were interested in but never had time because of the 'theocratic work"? You might find in time with a little soul searching and not being influenced by your friends and family that it might not be the 'truth' you thought it was.

You can send anyone on here a private message (PM) to ask specific questions or you can just read everyone else's experiences ranging from dealing with abuse, shunning, and other topics that will help you realise you and your family are not alone.

ps 'apostate' is just a word used to label and scare.

Oh No!!! A Witness saw me buying a Christmas tree

doing the black friday shopping with the family and we were picking up one of those nice prelit fake trees and standing right next to me was a local brother who i had grown up with staring at me.

i just smiled my biggest apostate smile and walked away... i wonder if the elders will call on me soon..
