the peer-reviewed essay details many misrepresentations of medical facts, which the religion partly relies on to support its blood prohibition, thus denying its members from making fully informed medical decisions.

Man, 3 years wasted on a "certificate" at a trade school before I finally got a clue...

First, this Blood issue will have to go to court to set precedents. Then other issues may be tested, but in each area one must show you have been harmed by 'misrepresentation'.

1 Lost wages due to WT misrepresentation of dangers and ineffectiveness of higher education
2 Sacrifice of assets, career, education due to misrepresentation of historical fact and misquoting scientist leading one to believe we are in the 'last days'
3 Lost of enjoyment of marriage or children due to misrepresentation of secular history to make 607/1914 valid dates
4 Eventually, loss of affection from family and friends duped by misrepresentation of secular facts and leading to our being shunned.

It will be a long time before the courts are ready to look at these matters and theology must be avoided except where the theology is founded on deliberate misrepresentation of secular facts. And this is assuming the US Supreme court is not stacked with Christian Fundamentalist by that time. The best chance of this "NEWS" going that far is to make the most noise of it now. Go knock on the door of you local news paper now. Even the local TV station will do a piece on it if you can make it a PERSONAL LOSS story about yourself. STeve

No, the email basically said that the 15th was the date that site was shooting for and that was tentative. The date for this event is not locked in and is actually a little ambiguous. I'll defer to Barbara on this. She will let you know whatever there is to know.

Yes, and we have been downloading 'plugins' all our life from sources before and beyond the Watchtower. These 'plugins' are running constantly, eating up precious resources of our mind and preventing us from finding a moment to be ourselves, the conscious being, the soul, that should be in control.

I learned from Quantum Physics to that we cannot examine our world as a neutral "observer" without interacting with the physical reality we are studying. I have recently learned from a study of 'consciousness' that we SHOULD NOT allow ourselves to be only an observer of our mental processes. We should take charge of it. We can stop the 'plugins' from running, even delete them if we discover they were "inadvertently downloaded".

Only when we step aside by deep meditation do we realize they are running, like the noise of a dozen radios tuned to different stations blasting at the same time. You can step aside from your own thinking as an observer of your brain just as a computer technician can pull up the task manager window and see what is running. Then you can click on "end process" step by step and get control of you own brain, presently running wild as if by an aberrant operating system.

I have been doing this (meditation) for four months and the affects are phenomenal. But you first have to realize that you are controlled by 'plugins'. That point you have made, Ballistic.

something suddenly struck me, while reading the aforementioned verse.. if the father knows everything (ginosko - to know "absolutely") and hence knows jesus intimately; how is it possible for jesus to know the father in the same way if he's merely an angel or "perfect" human?

I like your comments, as they often have depth. While many here may disagree with you I hope you will not take offense and keep commenting.

Regarding your list, many (if not all) of those attributes could be attributed to something as inanimate a computer, the US constitution, a court of law, an institution, or cold hard facts.

For example, circumstantial evidence can be thought of as having the ability to "testify", "convict", "teach", "guide", "bear witness", "intercede" and a catastrophe can be said to 'commission to service', 'command', or the Spirit of America could demand 'obedience', could be 'grieved', 'lied to', 'betrayed' and so on.

Isn't it possible that, when talking of either God, the spirit or heaven itself we are not talking about literal, physical or personalized 'things'? I know it is easier to imagine God as a person, just as it was, and still is, easier for many to relate to God while gazing on a statue representing Jesus. But when we anthropomorphically personalize God we run into problems such as explaining John 10. Maybe it would be worth a moment to try and grasp the 'experience' instead of codifying the nature of God.

To me, knowing God is the experiencing of him, the sense of presence rather than a technical and absolute description of his being.
