I have touched on this topic in the past and someone got offended because they were a "Window Washer". There is nothing wrong with this type of work, although no higher educationis required for it. I know quite a few Witnesses who work for cleaning companies. It is just a common type of job that many are able to get that will allow them to serve in the ministry more often.

I'm going to end my "bible" study
by KristiKay ini posted a while back, i've been studying with a nice jehovas witness lady for probably about 6 months.
after a few weeks i googled a few things (earthquakes, how long we've been on earth, ect.
) i realised she was very misinformed.

Kristi,
You are probrably making one of the best decisions in your life. You really are better on your side of the fence. I keep telling my husband that he's a very lucky person in that he never got baptized and didn't have to go through all of the emotional / physical baggage that I went through. I wouldn't wish this one anyone.

Do elders who get disfellowshipped blab about judicial committee's they served on?
by donnye inhas anyone ever worried about confessing something to the elders, only to find that they spend the next 25 years worrying that if those elders in 'the know' leave the organisation or get disfellowshipped, maybe they couldn't care less about making your misdemeanor public knowledge.
"if i'm going down, i'll take everyone i can with me".. i still worry about this scenario, and even though two of the elders in my case have died of old age, i will only feel really relieved once the last one does.. maybe current elders blab about the congregation members too.
i sincerely hope they would be too scared to do this in case there is an official complaint made against them for defamation of character and breaking a fellow believers confidence..

I know of elders who blab about judicial cases that are/were currently occuring. Most of the elders that I know love to gossip. I'm not just talking about in one congregation, but several. The bad thing about it was most of the "wives" knew about it too. Some of the wives knew the confidential nature of the situation, but would go to great lengths to snoop in their husband's briefcase or file cabinets. How do I know? I saw it with my own eyes. That's why you'll never catch me in the back room ever, and I will never tell ANY of MY personal business.

Believe me when I tell you that they are doing you a big favor. I would not want to associate with people who are closed minded and judgemental anyway. You have to keep looking over your shoulders in order to accomodate them. Live your life, cause no one will do it for you.

JW's turned up to see if I celebrated xmas
by MMXIV inhad a surprise visit from some jw relatives over xmas.
they had never visited before, had never been invited, were travelling out of their way and despite having planned to "stop by" gave no advanced warning such as a phone call even a few minutes ahead of time to see if it was convenient.
they stood at the door apologising for not phoning in advance but offered no reason other than that they'd decided not to call.. when invited in they had little to say (perhaps disappointed??).

Jw's are the most nosey folks I know. If, (and I mean if) they had the balls to do that then I would pass on to them this nastiest assed fruit cake I got as part of a gift by a friend.

New resolution passed at last service meeting? crazy!!
by finallyfree! inso my ex who has gone back to the wts and is being given the tough love and is questioning whether shes makin the right move.
she told me at the last service meeting that there was a resolution passed that stated that all leftover balances in the congregations accounts would be sent to the society to be used where the need is great, to help out with natural disasters etc and that the funds would be sent back to the congregation if they needed it.. has anyone else who is still in or knows active witnesses heard of this new resolution?
apparently its everywhere in canada as far as i was told .. .

In my hall , they always did this by a majority vote. Just like the robots they are, they voted every time to pass the resolution, myself included. The last few times there was a vote and the ? was asked if there were those who opposed, my hand went up because serving MY needs were great. You woulda thought that I committed fornication the way I was treated afterword.

What was the worst part of the conventions for YOU?
by mochamint22 ini thought it'd be fun to talk about what part of the conventions just made you cringe or be annoyed with.
i can remember a couple things:.
i remember after the tms when they put the list in the back on the announcement board, there were people that would get up while the last song was being sung to write down the info.

I hated:
The attendants acting like the FBI holding up those signs telling folks to go to their seats.
I really hated the fact that they would put paper towel on the mirrors so that you could not fix yourself up. (I tore one down, anyway
Having to sit in a row with a lot of children or those people who got up every 10 minutes
Having to wait in the long ladies restroom lines, while the men's restroom didn't have many in it.
I hated being assigned to clean up after folks when my bookstudy was assigned.
Sitting next to a real over-weight sister who would not get up and I most definately had trouble squeezing by her to get by.
The public talk because they hyped it so much that you were going to get NEW information.
When my favorite section was not available because of the many song books and Bibles in the seat for their lated guests.
Trying to find a parking spot because most were taken by the time I got their at 6:30 am.

Going to worldly funerals
Having worldly relatives live with you.
Kissing something up to God
Movies where Christmas songs are sang
Going to the club
Riding alone with the opposite sex
Attending Alcholics Anonymous
High hemlines
Not wearing pantyhose to the meetings and service
Making a toast
Listening to any so that praises God (example Yolanda Adams "Open Up My Heart").
This is real stupid, but anything with "erythorbate", which was added to food and we were told that it contained blood. That rumour ran around in my hall in the Midwest in the late 70's.

At first, it hurt my feelings and then with experience came I became self-righteous and judgemental. I figured that "it's their loss, not mine. And I zealously continued in freak service.
