It only takes one but he needs 12 old men in Brooklyn to tell him how to do it according to Gods will.

Watchtower doctrines failed or discredited in the past 20 years -
by james_woods inthe several threads on the literal 144,000 got me to thinking about this: it is getting pretty obvious that the literal 144,000 is at least getting very questionable and likely will not be able to stand long without a serious remodeling.
what else has fallen by the wayside?
i thought of these -.

3) - Conscientous Objection status (draft issues) is wrong for a Christian. This is the one they most openly rejected - they even have said that they never even said it - it was all done by the individual witnesses on their own conscience. This is, of course, a total and self serving lie. But still, this doctrine (which sent hundreds of witness men my age to Federal Prison) did get unequivocally changed.
I wasn't aware that they denied saying that neutrality was a must for a true Christian. Does anyone recall seeing anything published where they say that joining the military is a conscience matter and or where they deny saying JW's must remain neutral ?

Chemicals buried at WT Farms (WT ruining the earth)
by doinmypart init seems that the wt is guilty of illegally dumping printing chemicals (or as they like to say "ruining the earth") in upstate new york.
read the full articles from the news sites below.. "state officials are investigating chemical pollution found buried at an upstate new york property owned by the jehovah's witnesses organization.

One quart of motor oil can pollute 250,000 gallons of water. Did any of you ever see the ink they used....thick as sludge and the solvents we used to clean the equipment every week was pretty serious stuff.
I wonder if they are moving out of Brooklyn because the environmental laws are too strict in the City. I also wonder if pollution at the Walkill farm was part of what led them to purchasing new property somewhere else ? Easier to move than to clean it up.
I was told last week by a family member in Bethel that there are quite a few people ( esp. sisters) that are fighting different kinds of cancer at Bethel (Patterson) it makes you wonder....

What have we done to this childs little brain? LOL
Pretty cute trick...she'll be fine...that is, so long as nobody tells her she'll soon have her own pet lion and will never graduate from high before the tribulation hits.

March 15, 2012 Watchtower gives good advice to apostates ...
by wannabefree inpage 13, paragraph 15. do you like to be awakened from a deep sleep?
many do not react well when awakened suddenly.
a gentle approach is usually preferred.

It seems like most people on this site were using that same line of logic toward family and friends still "IN" the Org.
Many on here have been saying don't expect your JW family/riends to react well to anything drastic you might want to show them or say to them. They have been lulled into an altered state by the Watchtower Society and it will take time to snap them out of it....tread lightly.

Our youngest Son has been in the Phillipines since the beginning of December. We haven't heard from him since last week and can't get through to him via phone email or text. Not sure what to do....the last we heard was he was having some crazy adventures. Diving, Spear fishing, won $100 betting on a cock fight, within two hours of arriving in the village, he attended an open casket funeral in someones home with the body right there while they ate and drank right next to it. Hoping for the best....hopefully he wasn't in the area effected at the time. It's strange that he's not contacting us though.

Newer teachings replacing the old
by Anator inhave you noticed that some newer teachings that were at one time fixed in stone have been abolished and now appear as new light.. 1. generation from 1914 to over-lapping generations.
2. annointed stopped in 1935, but 70 years later it is now acceptable.
if you were to suggest either one of these before it was made offical, i'm sure you could have been df'd for saying it.. any other newer teachings similar to the above that you may have noticed over the years?.

Didn't Russell say that new light never extinguishes old light? Oops, guess RUssell was wrong.
No Mr.Freeze...that's old light... evidently there were many over zealous friends who gave added meaning or read too much into Russell's words which is a fine example of why we shouldn't speculate or rush ahead of what is written in the Watchtower.

Imagine a poor Witness kid thinking he finally gets a real present and it turnes out to be a stale Cheese Danish left over from the District Assembly , a set of bound volumes or some back issues of the golden age. It would probably send him to the looney bin.

WOW! How's That for the Stance on Blood?
by Yan Bibiyan inwhile taking another stab at the practices of mainstream christianity (to hold services on a particular day), the wt strangely explains what "abstaining from blood" means in acts 15:.
september awake 2011. on page 10:.
"...the scriptures indicate that some commands.

I asked him "if takin' blood was a sin, aint that fraction a piece of that sin ????"
Yes....and wasn't it a sin for someone to roll up his/her sleeve at the blood bank and allow their blood to be extracted for medical use ?
Maybe JW's can donate blood if they stipulate in writing that only fractions of their blood can be used.
