  has anyone ever been recognized and outed?

  i am trying to not let too much personal information out here, but is there a real concern?.

  If you ask me,it's the society that is being "Outed" for what they are, by everyone who posts their experiences here. I think it may be Internet Savvy Bethelites who are blocking the internet videos, thinking they are doing a good work. The societies IP address would show up because I believe they all use the same provider.

  As far as I'm concerned they can "out" to their hearts content. Express your honest thoughts in an open discussion on the Internet or hold up a liquor store, either way you wind up being shunned.

  Click on Tools

  click on Internet Options, (a box will open)

  cllick on Delete browsing history ( a new box will open

  click on Delete again (box will close)

  Then hit the Settings button ( located right next to the Delete button)

  Then click on View Files (a new box will open)

  At the top of the box click on Edit

  Then Click on Select All (your files will become highlighted in blue)

  Then Click on File

  Then Click on Delete (your files will be deleted)

  Click on OK (and your done )

  Do You Think Some Witnesses Are Mentally Ill Or Mentally Impaired....

  and that's why they are in the religion?.

  i recall many jws over the years who were what i'll call "weird"---and looking back at it, many witnesses are "odd" and "different"..

  I don't know if per capita, there are more strange ducks in the Organization than one would find anywhere else. I had always put the various oddities I noticed over the years, down to the fact that Witnesses tend to know eachother pretty well and are sort of thrown together into a group that is made up of whoever happens to live in that territory. They see eachother on a regular basis, so the oddities reveal themselves over time. And the thing I noticed was the nutty ones were always the ones who made a issue out of everything when dealing with the local school system, and they were the ones you hoped wouldn't announce that they were JW's in front of people who knew you were also one. There were some real nut jobs,in Bethel as well and I couldn't imagine what was going on at the Congregation level that made it possible for them to be recommended for Bethel service let alone go door to door as representitives of God's Organization. It did at times make me wonder about my own sanity, as I was in the same group and believed the same things as these imbalanced ones did.

  Convention Badges Location

  why does the wt ask jw's to wear their badges on their chest?

  in the case of brothers it is not a problem but is it not embarassing for the sisters?

  also if an attendant for some reason has to check out a sisters badge, it might appear that he is staring at.... escpecially considering that this is a religion regarded by many as quite prudish.. .

  I realized a positive outcome from my JW upbrining!

  i have been on this board for over 2 years.

  one thing that i have read over and over is to find something positive in my upbrining as a jw and i have been unable to do this.

  all i have seen is negative.

  Yes, it stands to reason that there would be positive outcomes from being a JW. Some folks swear that bieng a Boy Scout or having been on the local Little League team, saved them from a life of ruin as well. I think people benefit from following a plan....PERIOD. It doesn't mean that plan has to be the absolute answer to all lifes universal problems to be of benefit or that it will work for everybody all the time, or for the rest of ones life but at least it is a means of getting a person down the road past any number of obstacles until he has gained enough insights of his own.

  Why do some expect the WTS to one day end? It's simply not going to happen folks........

  in my anger as an ex witness about 4 years ago i really wished that this would happen.

  although the glaring errors, hypocrisy & downright badness of the wts was finally evident to me personally, others whom i had expeced to eventually leave the org have not.. i think it dawned on me around 1 or 2 years ago that my wife will never leave the witnesses.

  having presented in both heated & reasonable debate every kind of logical argument against the religions teachings the conversations would get to the point where she would simply refuse to answer my questions.

  The Organization has taken on a life of it's own. It started out innocently enough as a group of people who wanted to study the bible plain and simple. But somewhere along the line, it evolved into a corperation that has been allowed to dicipline and regulate it's own supporters, rather than simply serve them with ideas and information to use as their own conscience dictates. It seems like many Witnesses are more dependant the Organization and having someone tell them what to do than they are on God. I heard it said that when Communism was done away with in the USSR, many Russians wished it would return. It seems they felt safer than they did when having to think for themselves.

  Anyone who disagrees with the Organization is said to be going against God and Christ....an Apostate. Any attempt one makes to explain is only seen as furthur proof of your apostasy and Satan's hold on you.

  I think the WTS will morph into something resembling what it is now, only with different players and rearranged doctrines.

  Just as all the folks from the 1914 1925 and 1930's have faded into the past...and all has been forgiven in terms of the prophecies they counted on that didn't come true. All of us who lived throught the 1975 era and those who can remember all the changes in the "generation" will fade also. A little bit of the leaven will be left over from the last group so that the next batch can grow from it.

  so what silly things have you been counselled on or simply been told off for?.

  back in my early 20's, i had a pair of comfy old jeans that started to tear in about 3 places on the leg.

  it was the fashion at the time so not only did they feel great to wear, they also looked 'in', not that i cared for that, but it was a bonus .

  My brother got hauled into the back room after an ever so righteous young sister told the Elders that he smoked a pipe and she just saw it sticking out of the lapel pocket of his suit jacket. When they told him what he was accused of, he pulled out the little tortoise shell brush he kept on hand to tame his curly hair. He exited the room and the Elders went in search for the snitch. We used to call her "Suzy Straitjacket"

  Has anyone successfully faded without moving out of the territory?

  so far i've managed to avoid speaking to the elders who drop by.

  just wondering if they'll eventually give up in a couple years.

  anyone have experience with this?.

  Yep...it can be done. It's pretty much out of sight....out of mind. Especially if it's their own major blunder that pushed you out. 20 plus years in the same hall and it took 2 years for someone to check to see where we were. It was quite easy.

  Do You Think It's Improper To Make Fun Of The Name "Jehovah"?

  some people say "hovah' "jehoovah", etc.

  or they'll say instead of jehovah's witnesses, "hovies"....etc.. do you think that it's appropriate?.

  Heavenly Father, Lord, Almighty, God....

  I heard a tape of a talk given by a Brother from the Branch office somewhere in Africa. It was being circulated around because he was interesting to listen to. I remember he was talking about praying to Jehovah for help with a matter and he said " So I made it a matter of prayer....I said, Now Look Here Jehovah, I've need your help with something....."

  Everyone thought this was so clever but I couldn't help but think it seemed pretty disrespectful for this speck of dust to say "Now Look Here"....to the Almighty.
