Should you appeal the decision to remove you as a M.S ?
The fact that you are on this site and the fact that you even have to ask, should be answer enough.

do you know of any "jw" teenagers that were very bad in morals, but later in life they become elders, elderettes, etc...?
what were they like?
what are they like today?.
It goes in cycles. Those who wind up in a position of authority who were very "naughty" as teens or young adults, make the most suspicious Elders and the strictest parents. Those who find themselves under their control end up having to either conform, rebel or learn to be very sneaky.
The rebellious ones leave because they don't care if they suffer for the sake of their own integrity. If they do come back they try to change things for the better.
The sneaky ones who make it, either straighten up or get even better at being deceptive. Either way they become suspicous of everyone else because they assume everyone else is just like them.
The conformists are so naive' and trusting and unable to think for themselves that they are often rendered incapable of being effective leaders in the first place.

it seems to me that this quote could be applied to certain bible accounts as well.when seen as fables, they can transform us but when seen as literal their meaning or purpose is often lost or dies.

My son's are friends with two really nice Mormon brothers. They told some of the same anecdotes we've all heard that were supposed to have happened to JW's only in their version it was God helping Mormons.
hey guys, just wanted to hear your stories about the worst dates you have been in or have heard about.. .
let's see... worst date... hmm.... .
okay so this didn't happen to me, but i was there lol.
I'll tell you my wife's worst date that happened in High School.
She has 3 pretty sisters and 2 brothers and their Dad is and Elder and substitute C.O. She and her Sisters were all asked to the High School Prom which of course they knew their parents wouldn't allow them to accept. The girls got a lucky break because their Dad had to fill in for a C.O in another state which meant the parents would be driving out of town on the weekend with the younger siblings, attending to the flock.
With the parents gone, the girls all got dressed for the prom and were picked up separately by thier dates. My wifes and her date stopped to eat at a restaraunt with a group of other kids. After the group had finished their meal and were waiting for desert to come, the booth they were sitting in collapsed and they all wound up on the floor lying on their backs with their feet straight up in the air. After that little scene ended the girls headed to the ladies room to fix their hair and dresses which were all askew. When they came back out to the lobby the guys grabbed them and told them to run....they were going to dine and dash without paying. They all ran out to the car laughing and tore out of the parking lot and headed to the dance.
The dance went fine, they had a nice time but when my wife's date (that sounds weird to say) took her home she realized that one of her sisters had the house key so she was locked out. Her date managed to find an open bathroom window and offered to climb in and open the front door. The window was located over the bathtub. On the way in he lost his balance and grabbed the shower curtain which gave way. On the way down he grabbed the towel bar which ripped out of the wall. He stumbled his way through the dark house to the front door and opened it. My wife stepped inside and he stepped outside and stood on the porch both feeling akward and not knowing what to do. Finally he said "well...I guess I'll see ya at School Monday" turned and left.
By Sunday evening her parents had returned and the girls managed to get the bathroom back together. All was well until Monday evening at the dinner table when her Dad, after asking them how things went this weekend suddenly says " So ....how was the Prom?" They were stunned, they thought they were in the clear. Apparently one of the ladies he worked with had been a Chaperone at the dance and had come up to him on Monday and told him how beautiful his girls looked at the Prom .
Luckily her Dad was a reasonable man and took it pretty well.

I was about 20 and I got the courage to ask this cute Witness girl out to dinner and a movie that I had met at assemblies a few times and whos brothers I kind of knew. This would be my first real date, alone with a girl without being in a group and I was scared. During dinner she was nice but not overly talkative so I really had to try to keep the conversation going even thought I was really nervous. Eventually we got around to talking about deciding which movie we would be seeing. When I suggested this one popular movie, she said "No...I'm going out with a guy (joe stud) tomorrow night and he want's to see that one" Then she launched in to a long drawn out story about how cute he is and how she was helping him pick out colors for painting his house and how she was going to help him choose the curtains etc. I got the message loud and clear that she was interested in this other guy and was already "Playing house" with him. I felt pretty foolish to say the least.
Anyway, the bill came and to my embarrasment I discovered that they didn't take checks or American Express. I had almost enough cash on me but was only about .50 cents short...maybe even less. I asked her if she had any change. She said she did but looked kinda miffed that I asked. I asked if I could borrow it until I got to a cash machine on the way to the move. She flat out refused. I couldn't beleive it ! I went out to my car and fished around in the ash tray and luckily came up with enough.
About 4 years ago I saw her at the last D.C. I attended. My pretty wife and handsome boys and Me (looking pretty spiffy in a new suit) sat behind her and her husband...(the former Joe Stud) who was now chunky and bald (not that that matters but...) , I almost didn't recognize him. She was still very cute but from their body language and facial expression she looked pretty unhappy. They were sitting far apart and leaning away from eachother. During the intermission she turned around and said..."don't I know you...you look familiar?? (as if she didn't remember me...her mother and my mother had since began going to the same hall and were now good friends) Yes Tammy... I'm Exwhyzee and this is my wife Mrs. Exwhyzee" and these are my son's. Then she pretended to suddenly remember me. She knew that we all knew she was pretending not to know me and blushed but I took pity on her and let her off the hook by changing the subject and asking about her Mom and Brothers. I realized then I had felt embarrased about that date for decades when really she was just being a brat and sort of still was one. My gracious and lovely wife would never have done that to me or anyone else for that matter, and from day one, always made me feel like she would be happy to go anywhere with me. I once again felt mighty lucky to have found the right one.

There was a sister in our hall who breast fed her child long past the norm. The child was tall enough to stand and nurse in the back room while the mother carried on a conversatin with the other sisters back there. She claimed she did this becaue the girl had pulled a scalding hot pot of coffee over on herself as a todler and nursing helped her deal with the trauma of having skin grafts. Many of the sisters claimed it was because the mother enjoyed having larger breasts and didn't want to give them up.
What do you want to bet the girls in the video are home schooled and Mom belongs to a food Co-Op ?
There are worse things than this but these parents who turn their kid into a project kinda get under my skin and the kids usually turn out a bit odd.
our 12 year old daughter has been very unhappy lately (middleschool blues) and i tried to think back on the things that have made me unhappy in my 60+ years of life-.
i condensed them down to five categories- let's see if you good jwn'ers can come up with any categories i missed--.
you have lost/missed something important and can't get it back.
Unhappiness comes when your personal reality isn't living up to the standards held by your personal belief system.
People who beleive it should be sunny most of the time become depressed on cloudy days while to those who don't hold that belief, it's just another day.
i've only met the man properly three times, and all of them through my uncle who was the district convention overseer.
however, there was another time when i ran into him by chance that was amusing.
we were all staying at the marriott.
