for an ex-jw to go through life without thinking of themselves or referring to themselves as an ex-jw?

Good question. I think I'll always think of myself as a ex JW. I was raised Catholic and was a catholic more years than I was a JW but I don't think of myseslf as an Ex Catholic, in fact I hardly ever even think about it. Being a JW affected my life in such a huge way. It touched every aspect of my life. It is so much more than just a religion. I can't even articulate it, but I think you guys know what I mean.

i've been doing a lot of thinking about christmas with it coming up so quickly.
its a little overwhelming rethinking your whole belief system.
how many of you celebrate?
I left the org last May and celebrated that Christmas . It was nice. My kids were so excited. We went to Montana and rented a hall so we could have all our family and friends be together. This year I want to stay home (in Colorado) . I love Christmas.

i had someone from this site (who i won't name) who sent me two e-mails.
this person told me that they read the post where i mentioned that i have had a rough time since i got to las vegas.

stupid rules list....
i will start.... number 1) two people have to witness a sin before it is reported to the superior authorities....making me the org the last word in all areas.. the most stupid rule gets to post it once the gb has judged it the most stupid?

i am researching the jw religion...and i was talking to a man who was going to join.
he told me something about satan and his angels not being cast out until 1914...because that's when the first war in heaven happened.
i don't know how accurate he was, but please, if someone could help clear me on this?.
I left the JW organization 1 1/2 years ago. Its too bad your friend is getting involved. I was in my early 20's when a JW came to my door and I accepted a study. I'm going to pull up the thread "Stupid rules" you should check it out. Its funny but true. You won't hear about these rules from your friend !!! I think you'll get a kick out of it. Just click on latest posts and it should be near the top.

its getting worse with age not better.. first they warped my life plan.

i would have to say my favorite moment is when bart goes to the comic book store and has this conversation with comic book guy:.
