personally i did apologize to my friends in personal, for trying to convert them to jw's.it was a great experience!!!

i know this may be an annoying subject .
but if you did have to give up doing what you wanted in a career or opportunity - what was it ?
how controlling was the organization over you, and were you counseled by elders or higher ups to not pursue certain jobs, opportunities, college , etc - so that you stayed in the witnesses for awhile ; not doing what you wanted?

I just hate this subject for many reasons, plus this is the main reason that I straggle today at my 40 years of life to survive finnancially.If only I could break free form the most mind destructive American cult when I was young....
Let me see
1. I quit music. I had frequent visits from elders to stop playing quitar in a band. Shit I was good musician and I did wrote some nice songs, and although I continued to play music bad I never moved on to profesional musician due to the meetings and field service
2. When I set up my radio station in just of couple of months I had visit from "elders: and told me that the Org does not approve JW's to own radio stations...so I quit that also. If only I send them to hell...at before 20 years I managed to turn my radio station the best local station. As a result money started to come from advertesizers. Also at that time it was the first public radio stations that started, and indeed now to get licence for a radio station it cost a fortune!!!!
I personally believe that the only reason for my hardtimes is the WT to blame. I have WASTED my years pioneering and spreading a false gospel of a false prophet made in U.S.A

i'm as burnt out as you probably are reading more threads about the faulty witness view of the " generation ".
but please hear me out from a common sense viewpoint here.
I have also read the issue of 15th of Feb Mr Flipper. There was a threat regarding this change in the forum, but it seems that WT with this change is clearly saving time(indefinite) because:
1. Door open in 2008(despite the fact that it was left closed for 78 years, and the thousand of articles stating that the door was close in 1931)with the door opened again(it was also closed in 1878 in Russells days) the annointed ones will go on for ever, because we have new ones coming in and young in age.
2. By opening the door WT cleverly ease's the doubts of the JW's for the annointed ones-why they don't become lesser, and defines the generation (again)claiming that they are the annointed. Having the new definition means that there will always be annointed, and is like telling the JW's that "shut up go and preach and bring more slaves to work for the multiinternational American Company Watchtower"...
But the generation has 2 ways to interpretate it:
1. 70-80 years that is the average lifetime of humans
2. 30 years
In both ways Jesus was correct because the end DID come for Jerusalim after 37 years when He gave the signs for the end...GB are just a banch of fools that they are stealing the lifes of millions of JW's. Blind guides leading blind people

I don't know about you guys but for me the Governing Body of the Watchtower are sinning against the Holy Spirit.
is it going to become mainstream?.

I will say that for fist step it will become more cultish. It is obvious with this with their conventions, the new arrangement of the Watchtower magazine, and their obsession bringing the end
Second the will start to shrink due to the fact that people know that they are cult, and internet has set free multitude of JW's. Finally I believe that future generations will remember them as cult that ruined millions of lifes

It seems that WT is tightening the ropes. They know that they are loosing control( over their members+money)and they are desperate to point out that THE END IS NEAR. Again the alarm rings. but it's getting a monotonous tune to the hears of the JW's. The WT for a period of 150 years they are waiting for the big A to arrive...

just wondering, most members i've talked to over the years including me did not really think jehovah was going to destroy everyone that was not a jw or even half of everyone who was not a dub.
even a prominent elder in the cong i was in didn't buy that teaching (probabley because his daughter was not in) .

i grew up around very hypocritical jw youth.
many of whom i now know at 20 were never living up to the lie they put out ... stupid me i was.

Hey XJW4EVER, man we had a lot in common.
My ex-wife also turned me in for apostasy to the elders 2 times. The first it was 8 years ago and I got way with it, pleddging loyalty to the Org. Then again she turned me in 2 years ago again for apostasy when she found that I was writting some articles in the ex-jw web side. At that time I didn't felt to continue being part at the WT circus. The most amazingly is she still thinks that I was carried way by apostates....
You are correct about the fact being married with a JW you cannot have a real love or relation. Everything is controled by the WT society. You CANNOT open your heart to your mate. You are afraid that it might not be "approved" by the WT. and indeed it dragic to see how can WT controls every single aspect of your life. I don't believe that there are real relation in the WT world.
As for my self after she turned me and I was disfellowshiped, a few months later, I got baptized in the Orthodox Church in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
