so i have decided to drop windows xp os and bill gates microsoft and go for a linux mandriva os.
I just kind of fed up with Windows OS. Specially all this virus that recently I have been receiving. So I have decided to drop Windows XP OS and Bill Gates Microsoft and go for a Linux Mandriva OS. It seems that Mr Gates indeed got billions of dollars by Microsoft and I'm not willing to contribute any more money to him.
So anyone in this forum that uses Linux share your expierience and thoughts...
here's my yearly tips for those unfortunate enough to be going to the assembly.......there's alot of newbies here who just might benefit from sum of deeze tips.

No need to keep your self awake it is better to sleep. So here are my instructions for SLEEPING in the Assembly:
1.Find your self a seat next to the wall, preferably at the back of the hall
2.Take your seat and lay your heat straight on the wall so that from behind you will look that you are following the speaker
3. Have your Bible open(at your left knee) basicaly at Mathew 24:45-47, since is a scripture that all of the speakers will use at least once
4.Have your diary open(right knee) in order to fool everyone that you are taking notes from the "spiritual table"offered by FDS
5.Enjoy your sleep, but keep an ear open for the 11 o'clock song and announcements so that you will raise up among with the rest.It wouldn't be nice when everyone is standing up and you still seating and sleeping, you will destroy the good image you have build for yourself following advices 1-4

I agree that this forum should be a place of freedom of speech. Everyone has the right to express his/her point of view without being persecuted from the forum. I personally find interesting to see the views of other ex-jw's and jw's regarding their journey to freedom.
Anyone has the right to choose, either to become Christian, Atheist, follow a another Christian domination, or anything else that believes is right. Each of us must express freely our point of view, and ALL of us must be open to scrutinity and critisism, because only through discusion we can reach to conclusion. this friend has ceased believing the society's diatribe for some time and was only staying in it in order to associate with friends and family.

i have a feeling i am going to have to explain to my jw folks why i have decided to allow my children to participate in holidays at school.
theyll probably be wondering too why i will get together with our non jw family for the holidays.. .
we know jws avoid holidays because of their pagan origins.
The Greek days are not named by pagan God's etc etc, but we have the Jewish days. So it does not consider us!!!
We have the months of the year that are Pagan
Also many times (even JW's do this) they name their children from Greek pagan Gods or mythololgal heroes and semi-gods. Names like Jason, Hercules, Achileus, Odysseas, Isida, Iris, Ira, Pinelope, Aphrodite, Hermes, Lidia, just to name a few names that are widely used, some even by the rest of the Western world. So why would JW's name their child by a pagan Greek perverd God???
i grew up a witness and i never felt bad about my lack of material belongings a.k.a.
not having nice clothes in school, it didn't bother me that the other first graders were stuffing their faces with birthday cupcakes and i was in the school library researching fossils; but what did bother me?

Some tips regarding to what asimpleservant said in this topic.
In my case WT indeed screw my life. I didn't finished high school and began pioneering because the end was near. Yeah it was the 80's and the generation was just about to entered new system. So I did pioneer many years until 1995 when the "new light"came out.
My school years really suck. I was the most poor in the class and I was treated like an extra terrestrial.No birthdays, no Christmas, prayer in the morning, just to name a few. Plus in my country we had a serious problem with neutrality and this costs a lot. Some they have being to prison from 2-4 years. So when you ask for a job and your record says that you were in prison what chances do you have for getting a job? Even when you apply for a job you have to give certificate from the Defense Department that you completed your army obligations. So emloyers don't like to hire someone who didn't finished the Army because is pending issue.
On the other hand that I really hated was young JW's that they were from wealthy families managed to get discent jobs, and now most of them are respectful elders in the WT world. Also regarding my JW's relatives most of them are Architects, civil enginners,some they own and run building contracting companies giving them LOT of money. Again they are respectful elders in the WT world.
In my case I do blame WT for my mess. When I started to run a radio station of my own the "elders"came and asked me to stop if I wanted to continue to have my privelleges. Just to have a radio station licence today cost thousands of dollars. Also the same happened with music. Again they were after me because I played in band.
In just few moths when I realize what was happening in the WT world I left. I was 33. I have spend 14 years of my life working for JW's (the last one is a millionere)employers and going out there in the real world it was a big challenge. I had to face all the problems I mentioned above. I was Mr Nobody. Plus I was 33 and I had a family to support. Now at the age of 40 still working 2-3 jobs to survive because no one will hire a 40 year old guy with no education and skills.
WT ruined my life and I do blame them how I ended up. I'm sure many feel the same because WT is a Mind Destructive Cult, that destroyed the lifes of thousands of people

i have a friend who has been at beth-hell since early in 1971. he is arthritic and went one time too many to the infirmary and finds himself with no job, no education, and no benefits after nearly 40 years working his butt off at brooklyn then at patterson.....please help me spread this video around.. thanks kids!.

Great video, I cried in this one. At least I was 33 when I realize the crap I was into. Still I find it hard to survive due to WT's attitude towards education. I was a teenager in the early 80's and the generation was just about to expire, I didn't finished school, start pionnering because the end was going to come. 25 years has gone by and I'm 41 trying to survive in this hard world.
I feel so sorry about those persons that spend their life to the WT's prison. It is a shame how those leaders of that cult treat their members. WT has cause us only pain, nothing more

yes the great force known as the azzurri...the italians....err..italy.....have sneeked past romania and france .....everybody was shitting on italy but they proved once again that not only is skill on their side but luck as well.. you need luck on your side and italy have it in spades right now..... so when, hopefullly they get past spain, they will meet the dutch who somehow managed to beat them 3 nil..goddam orange men..lol..that will be a game to watch!!!
