Anti-Christ excellent...this was exactly what I wanted to say. Even in Ancient Egypt we have spacecrafts paintings at the walls. Not to mention the fact in Greek mythology we have a lot of examples of supertechnology, and spacecrafts. Also we have the Kethera Device, a device that shows the movement of stars and was found in wreck of the 2nd century B.C. Another example is the maps that a Turkish pirate, Pirei Reis (15th century A.D), had on his possetion. He said that they are copies of ancient Greek maps.Those maps had the globe the way it is today but without the ice on the poles. When scientist today did make a comparison of the maps they said it must have been taken in outer space to have this details. Plus they were taken before the last ice age 10,500 years ago.
Not to mention the astronomical observations of the Greeks that are dating back 22,000 years ago.Also we have the Incas, Mayias, Aztecs, Nasca lines, the Indian legend of a war that flying machines were used. I don't know if alliens exist, but for sure there is something out there

Satan is really powerfull in the WT world for the following reasons:
1.When there is a miracle in the Christian Churches like the Orthodox, Catholic, it is the Devil that is doing miracles to deceive people.(So Devil heals a sick person, in other way he does a good deed to help someone in order to deceive people)
2.Jehovah is powerless God, because He cannot do any miracles, since miracles seazed in the first Christian century, but on the other hand Devil took advantage of that and he is healing people for more than 1900 years!!!
3.Jehovah's Saints have no power at all, while on the other hand the Saints of the Christians do heal and perform miracles. Again WT is credit them to the Devil....
4.Demons are everywere, you can find them in the antique shops, specially when you purchase your self a cloth or an item from a second hand shop. While God's angels are on holiday and they are never helping anyone(in some rare cases only JW's who are doing the preaching work)
5.Demons are in the music business, art, movies, in childrens games like smurfs, or trolls as I we know them in Europe, and God does not have a power to stop that.
6.So God is only lockated in the Star of Pleiades, cannot be present everywere, needs a throne in heaven, while Satan moves freely in the surface of the earth doing good deeds, and helps the sick ones
7. Jesus has no power at all to guard His Church against apostasy. He managed to keep the church clean from apostates for 150 years only. Then those louzy apostates turn the Church to apostate and twisted all the teachings of Jesus. Plus the power of the Holoy Spirit wasn't enough strong to keep way "false" teachings from the Church.Then suddenly in 1918 Jesus chosen a drunkard dictator cult leader in U.S called Rutherford, who was believing in Pyramids and many other bizzar teachings to be the only one that was doing God's will upon earth among the Christians.

The past of an Organization it is very importand. And in the case of the WT it is the past that a JW SHOULD KNOW...The past is connected with the present and future, and no matter what it CANNOT be put asside like JW's do, or other cult members like Mormons.
According to WT Jesus made an inspection on earth in 1918 and found the Bible Students to be the only ones among the Christians on earth to fullfill His standarts. So WHAT DID THE BIBLE STUDENTS BELIEVED THOSE DAYS? Will Jesus requirements back in 1918 changed in 2008? If He chosen them for the specific "Bible truths" are those "truths teached by the GB the same ones as they were teached back in 1918? And if He makes an inspection now, will He accept the teachings of 1918 or the new ones in 2008?
Ask those questions to a JW. To answer them he must KNOW the PAST of the WT, and justify the fact that Jesus chosen them in 1918. Other wise if Jesus chosen them for their specific doctrines in 1918 and those doctrines change then who is the one who has fallen from Jesus standards? The WT or Jesus?
The past is connected to the present. And there is NO excuse to any JW to claim the "old light" is irreveland with the current teaching dictated by the GB. If Jesus chosen them in 1918 then they must know to answer the question what did the WT teached at that time to be so unique and be chosen by Jesus.
Simple as that.

What is the reason that the WTS uses for not celebrating Thanksgiving
by insearchoftruth inwell i overheard my wife last night on the phone telling someone she does not celebrate thanksgiving, i have asked her in the past why and she gave the stock answer about how holidays are rooted in paganism.
well from what i know, there is nothing pagan about the thanksgiving celebration, what is the official reason that is given for not celebrating this?

I don't know this celebration since I'm Greek, but anyway I can tell you why: Is because somebody else is celebrating it, so it must have been under Satan's direction.I guess this is the reason..plus WT in order to show that they are different from the rest of the world they demonize everything that they do not celebrate. Simply us and them,and black and white cult mentality. In the same way they do not celebrate Mothers day(I don't know if you have that in US) A simple expression of love for the mother who is the source of life and love. Nothing wrong with it, but still WT found that is the Devil behind this celebration..................

Thanks for your advices guys they are really helpfull. Just to clear up some things:
I'm on a trial base back, and this is not final decission. Regarding friends I do have friends. In the beggining it was from this forum, and still this forum has helped me a lot, and I have many good friends here. This is the advantage of using "devils" tools brings people close from all the parts of the world. I'm not complaining regarding my friends. Indeed this is the difference between JW's and the world. You have friends because they love of what you are.
Basically this is the unifying bond for all those ex-JW's. We have been through the same pain and have seen the unjustice of the WT Society. We have lost friends, family members due to WT's unchristian behavior. That is why as a person I have learned to respect and the other opinion. I do have my own opinion in many things and specially in the matter of the Christian faith. But even though we might have some hard headed discussions, still I have learned to accept others, no matter what do they believe. Besides I strongly believe that God, who is the ultimate expression of love will judge each of us according to our heart, and not according to the religion we are into.
This is the problem when we are dealing with our JW's relatives. No matter what, you are always wrong and they are right. If they don't open the gates of their close mind they will NEVER understand the issue. That they are in a brainwashed, mind control cult. It is like trying to explain the colours of a rainbow to a blind person, or the sound of music to a deaf person. As I said I cannot go back. It is a sick Organization that I no longer support, plus I'm reported as a dangerous apostate, since I have connections with famous apostates of the WT such as Ray Franz.
I know that the reason she asked me to go back is the children. But still it is not a healthy relation since love has faded way. So the only bond is the children and nothing else. We all know how the WT deals with disfellowshiped persons and apostates. No matter what I will never gain the respect of my wife. My small daughter 7 few days ago she said something bad about a priest that came to school.(It is tradition here in Greece for the Church to bless the opening of the school season)And I told her: You must respect other religions. And the priest he was reading to you a verse from the Bible. Also the Orthodox Church is one of the oldest Christian Churches, so you must respect them more. If you don't show respect to others peoples faith they will not respect yours also. Then her mother was ugry and said to me that I'm not allowed to talk to the children regarding religious matters!!!
As I see it will be difficult to be together. In fact when our first daughter she was going to get married she turned me in for apostasy a few months before the wedding. And I ask her why? Why at least you didn't give me the chance to be at the wedding. You think that you have saved WT from an evil apostate??? Or the GB will build a statue of yours outside Brooklyn offices to honor you?
I have gained my self confidence after many years, and I will not allow any one to take me that way. I have been through mental distress, pain, panic attacks for 2 years, and I'm on my feet again. Yes there is price for the Christian freedom, but I wiil not give way that for the sake of unity. I love my children and that is why I will not go back and pretend to be a JW. I have almost 3 years that I left and I haven't see any provision by the Elders to call me if I want to go back. Anyway apostates deserve to die and become the best fertile on earth!!!

I just don't know what to do...it seems that I have been carrying this burden since I was born. And the burden is to be raised and live for 33 years in the most mind destructive cult the Watchtower. After I have been disfellowshiped 2 years ago(yes my wife turned me to the "loving"elders for apostasy)I left home. since there was too much tense between us. Those 2 years were hard for me, since I was trying to start over again, facing the consequences of being disfellowshiped. Like many of us(I recall my dear friend Mr Flipper)we were not allowed to participate to our childrens wedding, and we are cut off with family ties and friends.
Well my wife asked to go back home, and I have decided to go on a trial status. I thought that she would get over the fact that I no longer believe in the WT, and plus I'm Christian. Every day I hear the same old story. That I'm a selfish person who thinks only for my self, I'm proud, without being humble, and I was carried way by "apostates". For this God will panish me and I will regret deeply because I left the Org. While on the other hand she has "friends"(JWs) and I have no one.
She is having parties for the kids at home frequently, and I'm asked not to be there when her "friends" will come. Also lately the WT Club Society are having excersions with the Cong and she is always repeating the same words, that I could have been with them, but I have chosen another path.
I don't know what to do.I just can't see no way out. It kills me to hear everytime the same words. I did talk to her before regarding the WT and of their false prophecies, and I show her from Jo's rainbow books, that they are wrong. But nothing...instead she turned me in for apostasy. I don't feel like to go on with her. I have never forbitten her to attend to the meetings, go to the field service and take our children along. I believe in freedom of thought.But I can't stand to hear the same crap about my self. Many of us are paying the ultimate price for leaving WT. And like many of us were born in that cult, we still paying high price.
As a child we never had a normal life. We were like outcasts in school, because everyday we had to prove our "faith in God's Org". I was watching the other kids to celebrate their birthdays, Christmas, and we never had that feeling of being accepted. I didn't finish school because the end was so closed(it was 1984)and I pioneered. I have paid like many, the ultimate price to be free. I do not accept the WT in any way. If I had the chance to be a judge, I would have send the leaders of this cult to death. They are guilty of crimes against humanity, for killing so many innocent humans and children due to their policy of blood transfussions and organ transplants.
I cannot go back in the WT, the idea makes me sick. There is no way to support such a blood guilty organization, plus the draumas I carry they will never healed.I just don't know what to do. Many times I thought to leave the country and go someplace else, but I cannot be far from my 2 small children. I need to be near them and guide them. On the other hand finnancially I'm in a bad shape and I need money. But I can't accept the accusasions of being selfish and proud, since I know most of my hardships is due to the WT.

Babylon had excellent architecture, and is one of the oldest civilazations on earth, among the Egyptians, Greeks and Phinicians. In fact the story of the flood is based upon oldest mesopotamian myths from Babylon the Epic of Gilgamesh. Also Hamurambi was a lawgiver at the land of Babylon and we have many similarities with Moses laws.
The point is that those stupid Babylonians(who were excellent Astronomers and Mathymaticians), did not had a proper dating system. They just coudn't figure out that they destroyed Jerusalim in 607 B.C, instead they are 20 years off the actual date.
