A Party For The Elders
by Mrs. Witness inat the risk of outing myself and my hubby, i just had to run this by everyone to see if it was just me.... last night i attended a function that the women of hubby's hell put together to honor their boe.
there was much food and they put the guys up on a stage and played "name that elder" and then interviewed each one.
the mc of the event gave deep commentary regarding his feelings of each of the elders.. i thought the elders weren't special...that they were just regular joes with more responsibility...certainly not guys that should be lauded for doing what they have been given the "priviledge" of doing.... am i wrong?.

Reading WT literature/talking to a JW is like talking to a 10 year old.
by dawg inok, so some witnesses left the "watchtower" mag.
at my door the other day....so i picked it up and read it.... it was like reading the logic of a 10 year old.
then when i talk to jw, like my cousins that still talk to me, or like the trolls (jws) who are on the board some nights, i feel as i'm talking to a 10 year old.... like the troll on-line tonight.... do you guys agree?.

Correct, only a 10 year old don't feel that they would like to see the world destroyed in mass holocaust of the 99% earth's population...So we got a 10 year old with serious self destruction attitude...that makes him also unstable character with serious anti-social behaviour....

Recipes for Pig Tails
by snowbird inwhen i was a child, my mother used to cook pig tails a lot.. she would stew them down in onions, peppers, and other spices.
then she would dust them lightly with flour and brown them in the oven.
they were simply delicious.. i haven't had any for a while now due to blood pressure problems.

NEW USE FOR THE WATCHTOWER!!!
by uwishufish inin the mail today i received 5 solicitations for a new credit cards.
i saw them as a plea for guidance from god.
so i rounded up all my old watchtowers and placed them in theprovided postage paid envelopes, hoping that the credit card company employees would find direction within their pages.. i encourage everyone to spread jehovah's word, using the same postage paid envelopes.

Wings of Desire
by monophonic insomeone just spoke of angels in another discussion and it reminded me of the film "wings of desire" by wim wenders..
i remember when i came out in the late 80's and how people were saying what a horrible film it was b/c it was about angels wanting to be human and then they'd quote, what, was it noah's day.
(the former things are passing away from my mind, yay!

Lying is okay
by Hiddenwindow inthere are several doctrinal explications in the wt literature about which the average jw is not aware.
one that has always puzzled me is the definition that the insight book gives to lying.
it explains that lying does not mean to provide false information, but that it means to give wrong information to whoever has the right to know.

God-guided Evolution
by serotonin_wraith init's a lot to get through, but if anyone gets through it all and disagrees with my position, i'd love to know why because i'd like to make this more solid.
i don't think i've covered everything yet.
also if you just have helpful pointers.
