When I was a dub, and had absolutely no doubts about anything, I used to fantasise about just striding up to the platform, taking the mike, and belting out a song or something!! Sometimes I still get those fantasies, but now I know what I would say!

Any "Miraculous" experience happen to you like the ones said at Conventions
by soundbox_guy ini had to sit through those experiences at the convention, i was wondering, did any of you used to be one of those people on stage giving an experience about how something miraculously happened like getting the exact amount of money you needed to pay your rent on the day it was due?
i always hear the stories, but can anybody actually tell me something like this has happened to them when they were a good little witness?
and if it has, did these sort of "events" stop taking place after you left?

I've got a good one, but it's kindof embarrassing!
When I was getting baptized at 14 I had my period & my mum wouldn't let me use tampons but guess what?!! My period dried up on the Saturday so I could get baptised & then came on again on the Sunday!! And has done ever since!!! I definitely thought it was Jehovah's intervention, cos I went to bed the night before thinking I'd have to get baptised with a huge pad in my cozzies. Too embarrassing!! And mum, if you're reading this, I've NEVER forgiven you for that!!!

Finally, I found the REAL truth!
by N at H inhello everyone, just wanted to say hello and let you know a bit about my story and tell you how thankful i am that i found this site!.
i was never a baptized jw although in the early 90's i studied for about 3 years and was an un-baptized publisher for about 1 year before my doubts about some of the beliefs and also my inability to overlook the constant hypocracy of the elders did me in.
sadly it was not before i dragged the love of my life into it, and also my sister (they are both baptized although she left after seeing the elders double standards when it came to doling out counsel/punishment to their own families, he is still in) anyway even though i couldn't bring myself to commit to the org because of the crap i saw going on in the 2 different halls i attended i still believed it was the truth...what an idiot!

Frog, just remember that you are grieving, & that this is some tough sh*t you've been through. It will get better over time, & you never know what will happen in the future, but for now it really hurts. That is natural & normal! I remember the night I got a 'goodbye' card from my best friend, I went into my backyard, face down, & chucked a tantrum, crying & beating the ground with my fists! I don't know what my flatmate thought ... Now I feel sad about her sometimes, but y'know, we've all got our own lives to make. The best revenge is happiness & honesty (honesty at least if you can't be happy right now.) ((hugs)) for you

Wife's weight problem

Ozzie is in hospital again.
by BLISSISIGNORANCE ini received an sms last night from ozzie himself saying on saturday he collapsed and had to be taken by ambulance to hospital.. he is being operated on again this morning (wednesday 29/6/05 australia time).
as usual with the particular operation he is having there are serious risks.
i ask his friends to send anything positive his way today.
