Thanks Merry - I've just come across Carol Christ's name in another book. I've mainly been focusing on Judith Ochshorn & Anne Baring, along with some others, I'm summarising an anthology by Karen L King at the moment. I've never looked at this stuff before, & it's great. I'll look out for the titles you suggested.
I've got to hand my essay in in a couple of weeks, though, so time is an issue for the essay, although I'm sure I'll read more for my own sake. Particularly when I'm planning my next child!

Whatever happened to the KINGDOM SMILE???
by Latte inwhilst sat in my car at some temporary traffic lights recently i saw what looked like a co doing his bit of encouraging a young boy in the f.ministry , he had his hand on this young boys back (kinda distant for a dad) i smelt a co immediately!

Omigod, I am actually going to agree with Sith for the first time ever
I am currently researching this very topic for an essay - re women & monotheism. The Old Testament is definitely sexist. The New Testament is not much better. Christ was not a feminist - he was instead interested in the spiritual as opposed to the natural, and women & their reproductive functions were in the latter category. This dichotomy between spiritual (heavenly) and natural (earthly) as good & bad is the central tenet of monotheism & is as misogynist as it gets.

Yes! Yes! Yes! See how illogical it is?!! We've tried explaining it to my sister-in-law but she just says, 'well, that's what the doctor says'. I don't get it!
