apostates undercover elders (i know there are some professed elders on here) have you ever handled a jc envoling a publisher viewing sites like jwn or others and who question the gb etc.. and if not what if you were assigned a jc involving apostacy?.
i would think this would be almost, if not an impossible situation.. kensho.

i can understand someone going to meetings to please devout partners etc----but any real involvement in the religion is simply hypocrisy.
is it ok to answer in the watchtower--is it ok to be an elder--is it ok to go doorknocking--a pioneer--a missiionary--a circuit servant--giving public talks--maybe at an assembly?
what if a mamber of this governing body was really an apostate--but still did the job?
come on folks--take a personal reality check.
this year will be my parents 50th wedding anniversary.
my mum is a jw my father is not.
my husband and i hade been df'd and i have 3 sisters.

i'm interested to know common phrases jehovah's witnesses use, but don't actually apear in the bible (even the nwt).
especially phrases most jw's would assume are in the bible.
e.g.. "paradise earth".
like Oz said---jehovah's witness.
you would think that exact phrase would occur JUST ONCE in the bible.
something i don't see supported much on jwn is the notion that the end of this system is indeed coming, even if later than wts has predicted over the years.. now for those that have left and become complete non-believers (in the bible) that is understandable.
you guys are welcome to comment of course, but i'm far more interested in some feedback from the people who have left jws and pursued a christian course.
are you still convinced that there will be a war of armaggedon or do you now interpret the scriptures a different way?.
the desire (or not ) of an imminent armageddon largely depends on your status in life. if your 1 of the several million miserable jehovahs witnesses---deprived of most normal every day pleasures---then the big A cant come soon enough. too bad umpteen billion other humans get fried.
however--if like me your no longer one of jehovahs happy band, and enjoy life to the max---its better that armageddon remains on hold for a few more thousand years.

back in my day the unwritten "rule" about courting in the troof was---no sexual intercourse. i know several of my peers who engaged in heavy petting-as indeed we did. it was only at a big assembly in the UK--in 1968--we were on our honeymoon---there was a major talk--and a drama--about premarital "fooling around". red faces time.
i know many jw marriages that failed in the early years--but to be honest--probably no more than average.

wasting my late teens pioneering--late 1960's.
marrying--at 20--to a born-in fanatic--just so i could have sex.
losing my kids through shunning--not being in any contact with grandchildren--6 of them just 8 miles away. i dont even know 2 of their names.
thankfully one son--now 35 has been d/f and we are now building bridges.
i could go on---but ive said it all before.
it amuses me when some members on here take a pop at me because i'm outspoken about people staying in that relgion for fear of losing their family.
they havent got a f**king clue.
here in california, i have to get a smog, which is an emissions test in order to register my vehicle.
does your state require an emissions test?
a regular inspection of the vehicle, or none?
the full mot fee where i am is about £54--whats that--$70?--but some test garages charge less--but might charge for extra repairs to bump the bill up. but then you have to have insurance--i pay around £ 200 a year--but most young drivers pay TEN TIMES this amount. then you need to road tax your vehicle--and this is now soooo complex i wont go there--i pay around £225 a year.
all this before any fuel goes in--typically around £6 a gallon here (whats that--$8?)
motoring is very expensive in the UK--but any alternatives a likely to be even dearer
i was born as a third generation (perhaps even fourth gen. but my great great grandfather never got baptized) jw.
i remember that when i was young, perhaps about five years old, i would think about jehovah as this big black ghost with yellow eyes.
to me he was quite frightening, and i was constantly catious not to piss him off.
from my teenage recollections--some JW mothers used to fill their kids with dread about jehovah. these days it would be classed as child abuse.
as i turn things over in my mind, one jw lie stands out.. that god doesn't listen to all prayers.
unless i have it wrong, and i don't think i do, jw's believe, and have been endlessly, ruthlessly taught, that only those living by "jehovah's righteous standards"...that awful glib phrase again...will get their prayers listened to.
in other words, god looks at the number the person is calling from, so to speak, checks who it is, looks him up in his book of misdeeds, and angrily slams the phone down.. the jehovah god of the wt is petty and mean-minded.
this resurrection rubbish---especially if linked to death by refusing a blood transfusion.
for those who still show up at the meetings, how do you manage?.
do you still offer comments and how do you actually muster up the boldness to gave talks and still do all of those craps?..

i would like to think if my house was on fire i would raise the alarm and try to get my family out as quickly as possible---not just sit their and hope the fire would just die out.
