  Funny experience last night...

  my story in brief..... after being a born-in, getting baptized at 15, and seeking to excel based on the approval of elders and my parents, i hit a bump in the road.

  i moved to a new congregation, and was a little more than disheartened by the lack of love.

  with all my responsibilities removed from the recent move and being told that i no longer qualified for responsibilities due to my declining activity, i sat down to do some long overdue research to appreciate our spiritual heritage.

  i heard my witness friend that if the name jehovah is the incorrect pronounciation from the hebrew scriptures, then jeremiah is the incorrect way to say jeremiah's name.

  i wonder if this is true, because if it is, that would make jws the true religion.

  Doesn't the ARMAGEDDON teaching foster a MORBID view of the future?

  even when i was dyed-in-the-wool j-dub, i felt the armageddon teaching was one of the most morbid concepts to be hammered into the psyches of jws.

  think about it, only jws would survive this catastrophe, which translates to roughly .001 percent of the population would survive while everyone else would die a horrible death.

  that includes people who do good things and are good people, but are just not jws.

  i just think the whole armageddon idea really debases god. puts him on the level of a petulant child who throws its toys out of ther pram for not getting its own way.

  a loving god who slaughters the vast majority of mankind because they dont worship him in the exact way the WTS dictates.

  but--luckily for me i dont believe in god anyway--so armageddon hold no fears for me.

  ive seen 2--in different congegation territories ( DID I REALLY JUST TYPE THAT WORD !!! )

  local to me--on a deserted freezing cold seafront---no one else around--except 2 well wrapped up old boys--and me.

  another town--in a litter strewn empty shop doorway--guarded by to strangely dressed females engrossed in their chat.

  i like these display stands !

  i'm all for it--if it means less door-knockers. plus--what does joe-public think of these crack-pots ?

  Fifty Years Ago-The Beatles Enter My Life

  the beatles were on ed sullivan for the first time fifty years ago.

  it blows my mind.

  i gave them three months and i was a fan before they appeared.

  i was still at school--just --when the first beatles record came out. no doubt--they totally transformed the brit pop scene.

  although--later on i preferred the stones.

  what is your most favourite beatles track ? for me its "fool on the hill"
