its been a very eye opening experience for me to find out that the god of the bible is as real as thor or ra.
i still believe a higher power created life but can see now how it doesn't really care about us.
so with this in mind realizing one has only 70-80 years to live and that may be just it, is very stunning..
i was born an atheist
i've been wanting to ask your advice for ages on this subject and here goes.. my mum is a jw fanatic, she just reads the bible and the publications, no other books at all.
she is a functioning alcoholic.. she is so disappointed in me.
i married out of the truth, you see!!!.
why not ask your mother to "lend" you a large sum of money--? if she refuses you can use it as a good reason to shun her !
many of my church leaders have inisisted that short hair for men is a strict scriptural doctrine, and not to be argued against.
what do people think?.
when i was a wee lad, there was a carnival atmosphere at assemblies as this old footage will show:.

the assemblies in my teen years--the 1960's----yes--they were fun. hanging about with dub-mates--looking for girls. i remember edinburgh ( murrayfield ) scotland--in--66 (?) i was 18. camping again in a large tent with several others. much drunkenness. woke up one morning to find a girl in the sleeping bag--next to me. dunno how she got there.
but--i never took the slightest interest in the sessions--none of us did--it was just a bit of a jolly.
it all changed when i got married--in '68---aged 20. my wife was a born in super-brat. a real do-gooder. i think it was '69 or '70-----went to a big one at the old football ground--wembley, London.
sitting in the rain--actually supposed to listen. it meant a long commute each day. it was the turning point for me---last big assembly i ever attended.
up until 5 years ago, the co used to work up their own parts for specfic congregations in their circuits.
everything is up to script, in other words, every co in the country are givings the same talks in the local congregations they visit.
what got me to cringe is when he said at the meeting, trying to encourage everyone to pioneer this august; he said :" you know this october it will be 100 years since gods kingdom began ruling, remember what happen when joshua told the israelites to march around jericho on the seventh day, and what happened when they let out a great war cry?
the CO is right !---in part---IT IS a 100 years since--a 100 years ago.

twickers 63--i was there--aged 15--camping in the communal tents onsite with all my fellow dub-brat mates.
our congregation servant was wealthy--he had a cine camera. lots of young sisters got filmed by us lads. happy days indeed.
i wonder how many of my pals back then are still dubs ?
would someone please layout for this simple soul what the wts is doing re 'donations' or 'pledges'.

in the UK the london branch has recently paid over £900,000.00 for a luxury house in north wales. ( there is a long thread on here ).
someones got to pay for it.
what do you do when you believe in your heart that your spouse is never going to wake up to the tatt?
when you're sick of the cherade of pretending you can deal with the spiritual division when you dont think you can anymore.
when you're convinced that your spouse is so decieved she is lost in a desert and is fine with living by the mirage.
sometimes its worth asking yourself if your marriage is still viable--even if the cult werent in the mix. i left it only a few years after i was married the first time. my wife was a born in--and still is. we are now in our mid 60's. she divorced me quick as a flash when i had an affaire--with a married sister--after 13 years together. there was no reasoning with her. it cost me my home and business---and--after a few years--my kids too. ( but i am now good friends with my d/f son )
that was over 30 years ago. now--?---ive been married again--twice--since then. made mistakes on the way--who hasnt.? my dub-wife did marry again--sadly her 2nd husband has now died and shes on her own ( as far as i know ). i sometimes wonder if she regrets her actions--after all---how many born-ins---now--in their retirement years----can seriously believe all that crap they were force fed ?
