God without Worshipers
by Terry inwhat is god without worshipers, but a mind afloat in an empty sea of nothing?
an empty ear of eternal silence?.
we are the only music;.

Hello- new here
by Kikura inbeen lurking for a while on here and thought i'd jump in.
a great deal of many thoughtful posts on here but have to say am a bit turned off with the 'rabid apostate' ones!.
my history- was raised in a divided household, mum converted to jw when pregnant with me back in 1970, dad was never jw but was supportive of taking us to meetings, assemblies etc.

i suppose the label "rabid apostate " could be applied to me--lol--i'd like to think so.
many of us have seen family torn apart by this cult---and are only too glad to give--and receive --understanding and support.
personally--i have no problem with guys attending occasionally--to get their card stamped--or keep the elders sweet---after all--how can they d'f someone who attends--leads a morally clean life--dont smoke etc--?
but--when i read serving elders on here--slagging off the watchtower cult--yet still enjoying the perks---then i go into meltdown.

When we die...
by Finallyfree12 indo you beleive our spirit lives on in other dimensions or are we really just dead?
?.

this whole life-after-death idea was just a big con by whichever religion to encourage men to go to war to fight other men--with the comforting thought that if they get killed the will get a second chance in heaven or whatever other place they feel happy with.
however--i do think many of us will live on after death--but only in the memory of those that remember us.--and when they too die--then --thats it--youre forgotten.

The GB are really going out on a limb with this DF decision
by Quarterback inthis is how a do explained the family business policy re relatives of df/da members.. he said that the expression, "necessary family business," is really not a scriptural term.
it is nowhere found in the bible.
but, out of the kindness of the gb's hearts, they have gone beyond what is written and allowed association among families for necessary business.

“to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother........."
is it just me------am i mis-reading that--?--------so--if someone quits the religion---therefore--no longer calls himself a brother----is he / she exempted from the shunning ?

What is the biggest regret or source of resentment because of being a Jehovahs Witness?
by stuckinarut2 ini'm sure we could all write long paragraphs about this question, but in a few words, what is your biggest regret, or frustration in life due to being a witness?.
what missed opportunities did it cost you?

Taking a blood transfusion is a worse sin than committing suicide
by EndofMysteries inaccording to this news report http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-nottinghamshire-27292918, a jw cut his wrist but was caught before he died.
if only a blood transfusion will save his life, he is refusing based on belief as a jw and is supported on that, including his jw father.
it's funny many religions put suicide as a really bad sin, but in this case it shows on jw standards taking blood is worse then suicide.

i bet the watchtower gang just love reading stories like that. it would have been even better if the guy had sliced his member off.

i was in my early 20's when i " told" my wife. we were out on the door to door "work"--we were walking across a river bridge. i said i'm not going to do any more doorknocking---and threw my briefcase into the river.
it floated.
she was stunned. the marriage somehow survived another 10 years after that---although i did go along to the occasional meeting--just to stop those looks from her.
i dont suggest you try this method.

back in my day--we really cared for each other ----"feel the love " etc. the few that were d/f either thoroughly deserved it--or it was for a short term--knowing they would be welcomed back--usually after say--a year. mostly for sex transgressions. this was before smoking was a d/f offence. also--before this elder heirarchy had been invented.
these witch-hunts are so totally different to how i remember it.

ok--ive now established the CO means circuit overseer ( circuit servant when i was a dub-)-a lifetime ago-----
so--the CO talks to your wife to try to get the goods on you--? whatever happened to headship--? has this cult really descended to this level ?
i'm sure if i hadnt found sites like this 4 years ago--i would never have recoginised the cult if ever i went back to it ( dog forbid )
