  Does cain get a bad rap???

  this is kinda along the lines of my favorite who told the real lie in gen 3.. i was watching the movie 'the bible' the other night (couldn't sleep.

  ) i was looking at its depiction of cain and thought cain is being pigeoned holed.

  now i am not condoning murder and the actions of cains rage.

  Even as a Canuck myself, I think that any campaign against Harper that likens him to Satan is waaayyy overblown. I believe that he's sincere, even though somewhat misguided in a few things. He's no G. Bush IMHO. But what do I know? I'm just one of those redneck westerners, right? The opinion of the west doesn't count...

  I wonder what my fellow BCer OUTLAW thinks?

  the wbt$ has set themselves up as spokesman for god..jesus is out of a job..in watchtower world..the wbt$=god.

  all images are forbidden in watchtower world..except the watchtower image... the wbt$ gods name jehovah,is a 14th century catholic translation mistake... the wbt$ doesn`t like jw`s to take sundays off..screw the sabbath... .

  i'm a good listener as my friends will tell you.. i am a born in jw, inactive for at least 2 years now.

  i originally joined this forum to find out what my husband was "up to".

  I bid you welcome applehippie,

  I and many others here understand the challenges of being a born-in. It's hard thing to deal with when your "bubble" has been popped and there's no going back. Of course you feel lost and confused and not knowing what to believe. When I joined here, I stated that I still believe in God but not on speaking terms. I still don't quite know what to say to him. I'm not sure what role God has played in human history either, only that the universe is too complex for me to believe that everything arose from blind chance.

  Beware that this board appears to be overrun with atheists and they and will not welcome any outright attack of their viewpoint without repercussions. It's amazing how the JW organization manufactures so many atheists right in their midst; the only thing needed to make them turn to apostasy and atheism is a flip of the switch. You do well to have a live-and-let-live approach to things that you do. Don't let anyone bully you into believing what you don't want to or are not able to believe. A few here will say that it'll only be a matter of time before you believe as they do. There are at least a few of us here who are a testament to the contrary. In any case, stay true to yourself...

  Do You Feel Somewhat Liberated When You Talk About Your JW Past?

  i do.. when i tell people that i was a witness, nobody can believe it!

  i enjoy telling them why i left the religion, the harm they cause, and the benefits of being out of it.. do you express yourself in this way too or is it only me?.

  A while ago I joined a mental wellness support group after being under a rock for the previous 2-3 years. At first I really didn't want to talk about the religion at all. I simply said that there was a social circle or group of people/friends I walked away from. It took me a while to open up about it; the fact that I was a JW and that it was a cult. One night, the topic of F.O.G. came up (Fear, Obligation, Guilt) and it felt like I was smashed upside my head with a two-by-four. I realized only then what a truly lousy place I had come from and then I had to talk about it. I now talk about it to anyone who wants to know and I'll talk about it if I hear about anyone coming in contact with JWs. I am silent no more...

  As a mere member of the R&F, of course I believed! I never was a MS and certainly not an Elder. Doubts eventually started creeping in as the years passed since my baptism. My intuition was telling me to avoid fessing up to anything, at all cost, because I sensed something just wasn't right. It wasn't until I signed up here that the floodgates opened and I no longer was able to believe in them at all...
