I'm sure its nice to celebrate things for the sake of loved ones, but at what cost? It sucks IMHO.

always will be.... jehovah's witnesses have played out the shadow play christendom itself has played from its inception.. new light, disappointment, issue reframing and denial, new-new light, disappointment.....etc.. .

jews were at the end of their rope swallowed up by the roman empire and could not maintain the illusion they were special or chosen by god.. when the "messiah" jesus came along many were attracted.. the others either tried actively provoking the coming of the messiah by attacking romans or retreated into insular conclaves in the desert.. the new thing was christianity.. it spread and split and argued and split and debated until constantine demanded orthodoxy for unity's sake.. the catholic church became the new thing and the process began again.. .
