so i am at 1200 posts or so (only about 6 were probably of note), and i still havenlt told my story and probably won't for some time.
basically, i was a born in who has served in other countries, as an ms, and given talks etc... my wife and i were in foreign language, have co's we have counted as close family friends, and were basically the golden boy and girl of their respective areas.

Welcome newbie2013, Do you believe that God changes his mind as much as the WTBTS changes its doctrines in its propaganda and now the NWT? If the GB are imperfect men and you are imperfect, why follow other imperfect men instead of the Holy Spirit inside of you?

some have noted that hebrews 1:6 is different in the older nwt.
some have wondered what other parts of the nwt were changed from the 1961 edition to the 1984 edition.
if there is a new nwt, it will have to be compared too.. please help me with this... what programs are out there to compare large texts such as these two nwt's?
Hi ILoveTTATT, It is not uncommon for non-WTBTS bible scholars to change wording of their bibles. For instance, read Acts 15:20 in different versions of the NIV Bible
"Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality , from the meat of strangled animals and from blood."
I believe I saw a version of the NIV that used fornication instead of sexual immorality. I do know that many Bibles use fornication instead of sexual immorality for the English translation for pornei. I perfer the term sexual immorality in this instance because initial Christians were Jews and would know applicable Jewish Law such as Leviticus Chapter 20. How does Leviticus 20:18 with its constraints translate to the modern definition fornication?
Leviticus 20:18 - 18 ‘“If a man has sexual relations with a woman during her monthly period, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them are to be cut off from their people.
Also, it seems that the Jews made provisions for acceptable recompense if a man had intercourse with a woman.
Leviticus 19:20-22 - 20 ‘“If a man sleeps with a female slave who is promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. [ a ] Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed. 21 The man, however, must bring a ram to the entrance to the tent of meeting for a guilt offering to the Lord . 22 With the ram of the guilt offering the priest is to make atonement for him before the Lord for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven.

just about everyone heard about some brother, sister or couple go in the south somewhere to help build a kingdom hall.
what i am wondering is:.
since north americans clearly make more money, wouldnt it make more sense for a brother to work in his home town and give away money to pay some trades man in the south to do the work?
Hi ecan6, You are probably right that it is a better logical and financial decision for the WTBTS to ask for donations from North Americans to help build KH's in South America, but the WTBTS is a DANGEROUS CULT. Dangerous Cults are more interested in keeping their members too busy to think, so it makes more sense to the WTBTS to send JWs where the "Need is Greater" than to ask for donations to help support JWs building KH's in South America.

Hi Londo111, I feel that a less than 30-second elevator presentation said from the heart may work on non-JWs, but would not work very well on "Spiritually Strong" (non-thinking) JWs.
My 30-second elevator presentation might go something like:
I'm a christian who believes in following examples set by Jesus Christ of unconditional love, truth and honesty, charity, and critical thinking for myself, and do not tolerate victimizing other people, lying, deceit, conditional love, nor blindly following organizations that proclaim they are religious and know the absolute "Truth". I found out from personal experience that the WTBTS teaches JWs to lie, be hypocritics, love conditionally, and victimize other JWs. Do you want to know anything else about the WTBTS?

If the Mormons can do it, why not the WTBTS? New light is wonderous and blinding. As I wrote in What major WTBTS change(s) do you predict for 2014? I could easily see the WTBTS starting tithing (but calling it something else) in 2014 (or 2015).

reading a couple of threads here about how to handle jw's when they try to witness to you, i was wondering if anyone had tried to give an everyday situation example with a couple of choices to a jw and asked them what the right answer is.
then when they have picked, show them that the wt would have given the other, more shocking, answer.
well.... let's say john works someplace, and finds out that there is criminal activity going on.
