i am a thinker... and i was thinking a lot lately about (the absense of) god and about my past years as a witness and suddenly it striked me: the less i think about a caring god being in existence the more happy and relaxed i am.
also the fact that if he is there then i will notice it one day... i am not afraid of anything godlike in any way.
while exploring that feeling i was also noticing something.
Congrats DeWandelaar being free to live your life the way you want (hopefully without hurting other people).
On the other hand reverse-witnessing to younger JWs to critically think for themselves is a worthy endeavor.

i've been out of the organization for quite a number of years, and still feel that uneasy feeling that was washed into every cell of my being by wt indoctrination since birth.
never seems to go away completely, does it?.
i use to feel the need to talk about my experience in the organization to others, to worldlies, and they never quite seem to understand.

so i hadn't talked to my friends on facebook for a while because i had been too busy on my page (now two pages) and my job, and my girlfriend.
so i go on my fb account yesterday and i start talking to a "bible study" i had had while in mexico... after learning ttatt, i have dreamed of ways to tell him and his family to stay away from jw's, but i hadn't had the courage to do so because of a) wanting to get my family awakened first, and b) noticing the horribly bad reaction of the very few people i have actually talked to (three persons).... but anyways, i felt the need to tell him, the "bible study"... he is around 15. his mom was inactive for many years until we found her in "service" and then we started her on a study and she came back... at the time, i thought i was doing a correct thing, if i had known ttatt, no way in hell i would have done that.
now it hurts my conscience, although to my credit, i had no idea of ttatt.. so his mom, him, his brother and sister are all in some way or another associating with jw's.. i wasn't intending to talk to him about ttatt, it just happened.... yesterday we started a conversation (a is him, b is me):.
Hi ILoveTTATT, Have you ever wondered why the WTBTS has spent a lot of effort in creating the Jehovah brand? To be a Christian a person is suppose to be a follower of Jesus Christ and his teachings and thus have a closer relationship with God. By creating the Jehovah brand the WTBTS has created a bait and switch. The WTBTS promotes that it has bible "Truths" and switches from following Jesus Christ to Jehovah and by extension the WTBTS. All a person has to do is read WTBTS propaganda to realize that the WTBTS is trying to diminish the importance of Jesus Chirst and elevate the importance of the WTBTS/GB and reading its propaganda instead of the Bible.
From my little exposure to JWs and reading Steve Hassan's "Combatting Cult Mind Control", it appears to me that when the WTBTS uses the word "Jehovah" they could be refering to God, God's Organization, and/or the GB, but they are definately not refering to Jesus Christ nor the Holy Spirit. Cult Speak is a very powerful tool according to the BITE model and the WTBTS has perfected Cult Speak by creating the Jehovah brand.

Hi braincleaned, If JWN is a support forum, why not vent away and discount comments by those individuals who are not in the same emotional place as you are. What is important is what you learn from your own venting.
Also, as long as your JW family are not shunning you, be HAPPY!! Live your life the way that you want as long as you do not hurt anyone else. How you live your life will probably have the biggest impact on your family. As long as you are happy and successful, your JW family may start to wonder way and start asking you questions. Unconditiaonl love goes both ways in accepting others and their actions.

let me share one possible way:.
say you're out in the ministry with another asleep jw and it's your turn to speak to the householder.
you can steer the conversation in such a way that you can talk about the pharisees' unreasonable interpretation of the sabbath law and how it was contrary to what god intended.
Invite JWs to do something fun or to get involved in time consuming hobbies where they can meet non-JWs who they might share common interests. Show JWs how to search for bargins and discount hotels on the internet. Show JWs how to search for information on www.jw.org and maybe there search will also show them links to websites like JWN, www.jwfacts.com, etc. WTBTS's BITE control requires that JWs be constantly fed with WTBTS propaganda and attending meetings.
Learn about Steve Hassan's BITE control techniques and show JWs how Pharisees, Sadducces, Scientologist, Moonies, Mormons, etc. can be classified as dangerous cults that victimize their members. BITE control techniques are used to extract money from members for the dangerous cult/organization.

i just got in from my daughters homecoming(she is a cheerleader and these guys make a huge deal out of this stuff).
they play 3 football games of various age groups.
it starts at 8 in the morning and just ended at 1:30. i just got in the house literally 5 minutes ago and i had to share.
Unbelievable photos confusedandalone. No body who wants to interact with people would position their table the way that they did. If they want to engage with people they would have placed the table facing the parking lot/ballpark and parallel and closer to the sidewalk.
I wish that more ex-JWs would walk up and reverse witness those types of JWs. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel. If enough ex-JWs asked them simple questions or inserted website labels like www.jwfacts.com in the propaganda, more JWs would start to leave the WTBTS.

Hi ILoveTTATT, Does your friend know how to contact your parents? If not, don't worry be happy, because he is 15 years old. Teenagers are more likely to rebel against the WTBTS than other age groups. Also, he probaly hasn't had enough time to be fully indoctrinated.
Does he understand English? Have you sent him links to either Spanish or English websites such as www.jwfacts.com, www.jwstruggles.com, and/or www.freedomofmind.com?
Good job on reverse witnessing, but please be more careful or go more slowly. You could have given him more information about the Mormons to show that they are a dangerous cult by refering him to links on www.freedomofmind.com, if he understands english, or translate the information for him. Once he understands about BITE control, he should be able to critically think for himself about the WTBTS.

so my wife and i chatted about thanksgiving last night and decided were going to celebrate it.
she was reluctant at first but i then brought out that according to the bible that we shouldnt judge nor be judged on celebrating a festival because we are also still giving thanks to god for the life we have.
i know many witnesses are on the fence on whether thanksgiving is politicak or pagan or whatever, but its no e of those.
Hi DS211, Thanksgiving is an awesome time to spend with good friends and family. Unfortunately, JWs would probably not participate because of the WTBTS. Best of wishes helping your wife to have an awesome time - alcohol might help her to loosen up.
