so get this...this is one strange occurrence that almost ended in awkward disaster.
so i took the week off from work to do some home reno projects.
this morning i was doing some yard work and just finished mowing the front yard.
Hi unshackled, funny story! You are lucky that your ex-wife didn't see you naked. She might have reported you to the police. Since she doesn't know that you live there, you can always put a JW repellant door knocker on your front door when you do not want to be disturbed. Although the "1914 Generation that shall not pass" doctrine is old "light", it should keep JWs away.

i've been slowly but surely and intentionally fading over the last 5 years.
it started with me stopping going in service.
then i stopped commenting.
Hii outsmartthesystem, I am sorry that you have to go through this frustration with your wife. I agree with Think About It!! If you love your wife and children, slow down there is no rush for you and your family to get out of the WTBTS. I would suggest reading “Progess (I think?) in helping my wife to see the ‘truth’” and ”Seeking suggestions on reaching my wife ...” posts to give you more ideas about how to help Free the Mind of a JW spouse. The most important thing is to reasure your wife that you love her and the children more than anything else in the world. Study the Bible and pray with your wife and children without using the WTBTS literature. Read scriptures (i.e., John, Hebrews) from begining to end about following Jesus Christ without cherry-picking from the Bible or using WTBTS literature. Talk to your wife to learn what things make her very happy and plan family outlings to satisfy your wife's desires. Introduce your wife to "Worldly" people who may have common interest with your wife and who she might like. If you want, you can also send your wife anonoymous emails ("You've Got Mail") to hopefully speed up the process like I am sending to JWs. Good-luck!!

Since the WTBTS promoted "Theocratic Strategy" or "Theocratic Strategy" to its members to use on "Worldly" people, what would prevent the WTBTS from using it on the R&F? I wonder if the leadership of the WTBTS every understood or cared about following Mt 22:38-40 more than it cares about the Organization and themselves?

i was raised a jw and my dad was an elder.
my parents divorced after my dad decided to leave the "truth.
" i was baptised when i was 16, after being severely pressured by my mom to do so.
Welcome ChainedNoLonger. I am glad that you and your husband were able to reconcile and I look forward to reading your future posts. You might want to read Steve Hassan's (www.freedomofmind.com) Books (i.e., "Combatting Cult Mind Control") to help you recover from your WTBTS' experience and may be help you communicate with your daughter and sister. Your mother may be a lost cause, because of her lying for the WTBTS.

could we be doing more brothers and sisters?
i'm sure i'm not alone in wishing that there was more we could do to hasten the demise of the wtbts and to speed up the exodus of it's members.
and i'm sure i'm not alone in thinking of possible ways to do this.. one which i have been considering lately is to make use of the fact that many who leave the organization actually leave the area, move away, and start a new life.
Essan - So if we have access to the email addresses, have there been any email campaigns yet?
Hi Essan, I started mine. Everyone else can start their own, or they can send me their email addresses and I will email JWs. I wonder if Simon would start a new catagory/board about sharing ideas to Free the Minds of JWs?

Diest - Does anyone know how we could harvest emails from sites....ie pool togeather and buy a list from a site like JWmatch.com. I dont know where else people's emails are linked to the fact that they are JW's.
Hi Diest, you don't have to buy email addresses. I data mined many email addresses from emails from JWs. Remember that JWs like to associate with JWs so they usually send chain emails with cute pictures or sayings to other JWs and are not internet savy enough to delete all the previous email addresses or send the emails bcc. All that people have to do is exchange ideas about what works or doesn't work and encourage other people to set-up anoynomous email accounts to send emails to JWs. I would bet that everyone on this board knows or has access to about 50 to 100 JW email addresses. I would estimate that within one year more than 2,000,000 JWs could be contacted by email. Also, not every JW needs to be contacted. If JWs in the more economically developed countries started having doubts and stopped donating money to the WTBTS, wouldn't that cause a lot of concern for the GB?

i've noticed on my brief time on these forums that there seems to be quite a few that have serious doubts about the org or know of all the lies etc of it but still go to meetings or even still serve as a ms or elder.. i'm just curious as to why you still bother going?
no offense meant here...i'm not being all judgemental like typical jws but am curious.
i'm guessing a lot of it is down to not wanting to break up the family or losing relatives etc.
How many, who are still "in", continue to donate money and do Bible studies using WTBTS literature? If you were to stop donating money or read the Bible with a convert instead of using the WTBTS literature, would that allow you to appear to be a good JW without being scrutinized? Would it be your fault that converts do not become baptized, that your converts do not donate, or that donations are not as large as the Org wants?
