BOTR- Announcement
by Band on the Run inlaw school is obviously not the hardest program to follow.
it isn't something that can be replicated on the internet.
a first year student can find the law.

Funny, I don't have any idea what career anyone on

But I can not recall even one of your posts where
you did not mention your great LAWYER position.

On a Scale of 1 to 10---How Devoted Were You To Being One of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus inas i grew up in the religion, i was a 10. i wanted to be made a "servant" because that was instilled in me from infancy.
i diligently studied ever piece of watchtower literature and defended my religion intensely.. when i got into my 30's, i started to see little cracks in the watchtower's surface but decided to "wait on jehovah".
then i started to research a little more critically and realized i couldn't defend the prophecies, the treatment of people and the hypocrisy that was becoming more obvious, that especially an elder can see.. it was a gradual thing---from a 10 to a zero!.

Saw this more than once.............................
"always loved it when someone was on disability but Pioneering (in the old days, when it was 90 hours a month). It seemed to me if a person could get in and out of a car 50 times a day and walk door to door all month, they should be able to hold down a job with no problem"
*
and then to have the nerve to say to me (working everyday!)
"Hey, I've been pioneering for 25 years now ...
(nose in the air!) ...what have you done for jehover!"
*
Well for one thing paying taxes to keep YOU! Grrrr

"Writing . . . is a lonely life."
by compound complex in"writing, at its best, is a lonely life.
organizations for writers palliate the writer's loneliness but i doubt if they improve his writing.
he grows in public stature as he sheds his loneliness and often his work deteriorates.

Angels and Women - A review
by LivingTheDream ini first found and read this book as a young man during the early 1980s while visiting the bethel library.
this library was located at the world headquarters of jehovah's witnesses in brooklyn new york.
this book exists in its form now because of the interest that religion's leaders had in the original work seola, from where this book was adapted.

Oh those baaaad women huh .... Rutherford no doubt alluded to this
when he provocatively called down woman as just
"a hank of hair & a piece of bone"!

What an arse hole!

How many in this cult club die... with the music still in them?

Today I Da'd -Twenty-five years ago. Regrets -some.
by Xanthippe inyes twenty-five years ago today we sent in our da letter.
some regrets, not about leaving the cult obviously, but sometimes when i read about people slowly fading and keeping in touch with family and friends i wonder if we should have done that.
of course it was before the internet in 1989 so we didn't know about people fading.. one day we were driving along and we had been talking about moving congregations because we knew something was wrong but of course we thought it was local.

Xan ... wonderful words...wishing you serenity as you
muse over your last 25 years. There is always that little
catch in the throat & stinging tears that start sometime
when longing for someone or something. For a time, long
ago, when things were more elementary & routine.
*
I was not born in, but did spend almost 50yrs of life
on the hampster wheel! I do regret that I failed to see,
after just 20yrs in, that I was in a cult & that my suspicions
were right!!!
*
Still have special children stuck in ....& struggling with the final
exit!
*
The freedom of thought, freedom to stay home, sleep-in &
never step foot in a KH again ........is almost priceless!
Almost priceless ...because a final move will mean paying
a price. The currency ......is my children!
*
I'll leave you with a line from a movie Xanthippe .....>
"Things will work out right in the end .....and if it doesn't,
it isn't the end".

My Judicial Meeting was 6 WEEKS ago! Help me with a question.
by Comatose inmy judicial meeting was 6 weeks or more ago, and still no action.
i used a lawyer and a letter to them after i had already met with them and admitted everything.
the crazy part was they didn't tell me that night if i was df or not.

YOU have to decide & it looks like you did!
*
Are you thinking there is a slim hope that they will be
too scared to df you now (lawyer)? And you don't want
to lose that possibility? .....WHY? Get it done, at this point.
ps congrats for doing it!
