  Can you recommend some movies/videos?

  an ex-jw meetup group i attended just watchted worlds apart together and the host wants to do this type of thing more often.. i would love to see religulous, but the group would be divided on such a movie.. i suggested the documentary, jesus camp and september dawn.. do you have any suggestions i can pass along?.

  so what silly things have you been counselled on or simply been told off for?.

  back in my early 20's, i had a pair of comfy old jeans that started to tear in about 3 places on the leg.

  it was the fashion at the time so not only did they feel great to wear, they also looked 'in', not that i cared for that, but it was a bonus .

  Just heard of a new one:

  A JW sister had to rush from work to make a JW funeral, she had no time to go home and change. She was dressed well, only thing was that she had slacks on (no skirt/dress). An elder after the service had to come up to her and tell her that her attire was not acceptable in the KH!

  Such loving counsel during someones funeral Can't we all feel the love....

  Thank you for sharing SD-7, I really enjoy your posts.

  I think perhaps the agnostic in me wondered why we meet in buildings and bow our heads to a being that we have never seen or heard and that indeed no one has heard from theoretically in 2,000 years--back before people even knew bacteria existed.

  ...socializing with Witnesses was something I mostly avoided even when I was one. I think the burden of having to do it again, of being afraid to talk about whatever's in my head knowing it'll be judged if not in line with 'Jehovah's standards', all that...it wasn't worth it then, and it's not now.

  I feel the same, I almost feel sick when I am with any Hard-Core JW, they can say & be who they want to be, yet I am not allowed the same privilege without them judging me instantly for thinking 'worldly' and being 'bad association'.

  Moshe - So damn true, they screw the JWs hard and yet the R&F continue to take it all as you said "without one iota of proof" This still gets me to this day, when I have shown certain ones proof that discredits them (586/7 BC) they just don't care! The mind boggles

  Retrovirus - Excellent, I was trying to work out how to add something like that yet my brain was blank. Love it.
