Are you still on your local congregation's radar because of out of town family?

over a couple of years ago, i did a relatively quick fade, having dropped fs and then meetings cold turkey with the space of a few months.

sure there was a bit of harassment and stalking for a while but it soon petered out as my wish to be left alone became know among the locals.

admittedly i stretched things out a little bit longer by going to meetings and conventions when i visited family in their towns for about another year after but now i'm completely "clean" as it were.

I am still in the same area as my last KH. I have family that attend the same KH that I use to go to. I know the elders have asked about me to my family members but my family have given them nothing of value (for D'Fing me). I am clearly an apostate to my family, they know it ALL. I have bad mouthed the GB & the JW religion to the max to my family, yet they have not and will not turn me in to be D'Fed. My family are full on Dubs. Says a lot about them following the 'slave' ... [Are you reading this Bethel? You are losing control over your robots, family are more important to them than the dorky FDS/GB]

I say stay where you are Vamp, sounds like your life there is going well and only getting better.

What do Jehovah's Witnesses do about compulsory voting in Australia?

what are they advised to do?

do they attend polling booths and somehow register "neutrality" or are they allowed to be absent altogether?

have politicians or the media ever addressed the issue?

I fill out my wife's forms in recent times with something like the following.

"As one of Jehovah's Witnesses I chose to abstain from voting as a conscientious objector. I only support God's government because God states at Dan 2:44 that he will soon destroy all governments and kill everyone not a Jehovah's Witness at Armageddon."

Hahaha that's too funny Paul but true by JW thinking.

As others have stated, small fine that is avoided by stating that you didn't vote for religious/conscience reasons.

After doing that for so many years (all my adult voting life) I can not be bothered queuing up to vote now.

A kid was sitting on his lawn with a box of puppies one morning. A couple of JWs were witnessing in his street. The JWs asked the boy what kind of puppies were in the box.
The little boy said, "Jehovah's Witnesses" The JWs beamed, patted the boy on the head, and said, "Thatta boy!"

A few weeks later the same JWs were witnessing in the area. This time with the C.O in tow. The JWs stopped at the boy's house, winked at the C.O and said, "Hey kid, what kind of puppies are in the box?"

The boy said, "Apostates"

The JWs looked crushed, saying, "What happened? A few weeks ago they were Jehovah's Witnesses!"
The boy said, "Well, the puppies opened their eyes."

Most humiliating...

i was at home this morning typing up a couple legal documents for some general contractors to sign that were going to be doing some tree removal on my property, when i get a visit from a sister in the hall i used to attend.

she usually stops by at least once a week.

i haven't been to meetings for over a year now and didn't attend memorial this year, but she was quick to remind me how i missed out.

why are australian jehovah's witnesses so reluctant to take legal action ?

it bewilderers me how reluctant exjw australians are to take legal action on sexual, mental, physical and spiritual abuse !.

im an australian grew up during the failed generation prophecy and almost every kid i knew in my congregation was being molested by brother so and so ... or "elder so and so who looks after little sister whilst witnessing...... blar blar blar.

we all knew it .... us kids that is ... thought it was the norm ..... unspoken secrets we shared our stories with "promise to jehovah not to tell but ..... or did you know he's doing it to her as well ......... it makes me a tad bit angry that us aussies dont have the guts the u.s has had ...... does anyone know of a single lawsuit by an ex australian jehovah's witness regarding sexual abuse ?.

Hi exjw1978, I am not reluctant to address the issue, I personally do not know anyone that was abused. If I was abused I would easily take the bastard to court.
