NOPE! My ex was dishonest with money much of the time. He would hide what he was buying, and took $3000 of our money and bought stocks and didnt tell me. He continually tries to find ways to cheat me out of money.

JWs REFUSE to Reason!
by brotherdan inso last night my wife brought the situation up again and kept telling me how sorry i'm going to be for what i'm doing to our family.
i kept a mild attitude and tried to reason with her.. she refused!.
i went about it in the way that sweet baby cheezits recommended.

This won't be solved overnight Dan. I can so relate to your wife's sarcasm and marterdom type of attitude. This is NOT about doctrine. This is about LIFESTYLE. She is mourning the lifestyle she has set in her mind as what she "should" have.
She is irritated that she has to: Get the kids in their little suits for the meeting -By herself, Pack the diaper bag with proper amounts of cheerios and goldfish-by herself, pack a blanket so she can nurse the baby in the mothers room-by herself, in the winter she has to drag two little ones by herself....she is so mad that she thinks she is going to have to do it all by herself, when she is home with the kids all day long. New mom's are so frustrated and tired that taking care of kids, althoug rewarding is a CHORE. Going to the meetings is TORTURE with little ones. Even getting herself ready has to be a drag.
She is upset about not being a cute little family with daddy coordinating his tie with his sons. She is upset about APPEARANCE and the ease of life.
From what you have said, she is not religious. This is not about 607 BCE, her responses are not even pointed at religion. She is upset at the extra responsibilty she feels by default she has to bear.
So change that up. Her lack of faith in the doctrine will work its way to the surface. My heart breaks for you. #1, it is so hard to have little ones and maintain your sense of self and happiness, even though they are so loving and fun. #2, you are rocking her cushy world. She is a SAHM, her comment about being an amazing mom, that is so bizarre, that isnt up to her to label herself an amazing mom, you should tell her that or others. You are messing up her image of white picket fence. So step it up so ITS NOT AS BAD AS SHE THINKS. Take those boys out yourself, give her a break, she is tired and resentful as a lot of moms are when the kidlets are little.
PM me if you want to talk. :)

AUTUMN
by compound complex intoday's sky is no brilliant blue but a soggy blanket of dull gray.
its lofty drabness has acquiesced to the terrestrial, allowing the fall colors of the landscape to explode and bleed upward, outward, into the chill air.
a copse of scrub oak adorns a knoll set amidst the newly greening pasture land.

It has been a gorgeous fall where I live. Mild weather, and lots of sun. Mid to high 60's for weeks now, rain when needed and hot sun on occasion for that cherry on top! Life is good. Tomorrow we take a long drive to visit my grandparents. I will snap some pics of the pretty leaves and scenery if it strikes me.

Dead souls leaving voicemails

I am not a believer...until this week.
My dad (df-agnostic) told me that his wife's nephew's best friend (35 year old male, married, no kids) was killed in a motorcycle/car accident a week ago. The nephew (we will call him Jonnny) was too distraught to say goodbye at the hospital. The man who was killed was kept alive temporarily by life support, actually revived by EMS on the scene. Two days later Johnny got a voicemail (no missed call, no record of incoming call from Verizon), and as clear as day it was his friend. My step-mom came by on Tuesday and played it for me.
"crackle sounds and then like wind on a cell phone, kind of staticky, then Hi...It's Matt RXXX....Bye." You could tell it took a lot of strain for the voice to say it. Strange pauses. It was preceded by another call 15 min before from someone else and the call was missed and time stamped. This one was not time stamped.
I have watched those ghost shows on A&E. I have heard the spirits straining to talk. Allegedly it is a strong pull of energy to put a voice out there. So Johnny's mom called Verizon and they supposedly told her that it is not uncommon for recently dead people to channel the waves (radio?) and send messages to loved ones who are still alive.
What do you think? I am skeptical, but I did hear it. No one really knows me, but we are not flakey people, and I find this fascinating. So what do you think? It seems so outrageous to me!

TWO QUESTIONS
by snowbird in1. are your validation words getting weirder?
e.g., what is a jamstratt?.
2. when you are on a thread where posters are fighting and trading insults, how do you feel?.
-

Hmmmm, validation words??? I never thought about it. But being a GEN...what generation am I?? I do know that it's cool (wait, is it cool to say cool anymore?) It is nifty to come up with unique words to mean things we all know the meaning of in a really snappy combo.
When people are insulting, well that is the nature of forums. There is nothing more crazy than a mommy forum. Post partum chicks are mean and competitive. We mellow out once we wean our young from the breast.
I do not like to hurt feelings, not sure why people feel free to be personal on boards, but I guess it can make people more cautious about what they post. No one wants to come off like a dumbass, even in a room full of cyber strangers.
