Huh, really? 30 of them. That seems a little much to me considering that most bookstudy groups are only about 20 or so, and they don't all hit the same street at the same time. 30 people would be at least 7 cars worth, and you managed to find them all at the same place? Unless you followed them to the donut shop, then I might believe your story.

I destroyed @30 jw's today in field service
by JunkYardDog in2 wt zombies came to my door today.
and i opened a can of woop a$$ on them.. i did the whole history of wt false prophecies on them and asked them to show me the gospel of 1914?
they couldn't and i followed them up and down the street proclaiming they were false teachers and couldn't talk their way out of a paper bag with a knowledgeable apostate.

Elders School
by EmptyInside inthe elders in the area are having their elders school.
it was announced at one hall, not to forget their badges or they wouldn't be allowed inside.. i shared with my mother some things in the elder book without telling her that's where i heard it.
she just shakes her head, but says it's still the truth.

Why do people try and make you stay by guilt? What if you guilted her and said, please do not be a JW anymore, I can no longer take it! I am sorry you cannot be yourself right now.

I can spot JW's a mile away....
by lalaa inso earlier today i was having lunch with my sister when 3 ladies walked in to the restaurant.
one in her early 20's..one in her late 30's early 40's and the last one maybe somewhere in her 50's.
when i looked up and glanced at them i said to my sister that i bet those are jw's since they were all dressed in service clothes.

I see them driving around my neighborhood once in a while. Rarely see them out, but if I wanted to, I could definitely stake out the break spots. If I had the balls of Moshe I would do that for shits and giggles sometime.

Is it fashionable to wear animal print clothing? JWN ladies, do you wear that kind of stuff?
by miseryloveselders ina friend of mine made the statement that only old women wear animal print clothing.
she said this some weeks ago, and ever since i have been noticing that it is the more mature of the mature population still wearing leopard print, and zebra print fashions.
granted occasionally i see younger gals wearing that stuff too, but its usually as an accessory such as a shawl.

Love me some fashion talk.
I do have a zebra print Kathy Van Zeeland purse which is pretty cool.
I also have a cute spaghetti strap top with these molded boob things and it kind of flares out baby doll style that is a leopard print and has some pink in it. I wear a black sweater over it, but it is also in style. Other than that, Nah, not a fan. I do think leopard print high heels have their place if they are really nice heels, and worn with a plain black dress.

Time can heal, but not completely
by Maddie init's been a long time since i looked in here; even longer since i posted.
i don't recognise hardly anyone on the site now, but remember the support from posters when things were very difficult for me, as i made the decision to leave the watch tower.
it was a so painful not being able to have my jw son and baby grand daughter and not having them in my life any more and still hurts two years later, but it is bearable now most of the time.. i don't regret leaving because i couldn't live a lie after i knew it was a cult.

I am glad that life is bearable for you now. What do you attribute to things being tolerable? Do you have some new hobbies or newfound interests? Any chance your family will come around? ((HUGS))

Thanks and Goodbye
by brotherdan ini really do appreciate all the help you guys have given me in this process.
but it's time for me to leave.
it was time for me to leave the wt (at least in my mind) when it became damaging to me.

Sorry you have a bad taste in your mouth to this site. I hope that some of it is still good in your eyes and not all negative. Some threads and posters stick out more than others, but hopefully as time goes on you will not feel so upset and will remember how much SOOO many people have reached out to you, and were heartbroken over your situation. I was touched how many folks were taking a special interest in you. I hope you find some comfort in that eventually. Its not fun to hold onto the negative. Best of everything to you!!

Are you suspicious of LURKERS?
by VampireDCLXV inwe all know they're here but we don't really know who they are.. they are people who sign up here and then never comment (or rarely ever do).. doesn't that make any of you regulars here at the very least a tiny bit suspicious?.
why would a person sign up to a forum like this and then never say a damn thing?
it seems to me that there is a primary reason why some folks sign up and then never comment on anything: to spy.

The Holiday Thread
by SweetBabyCheezits in[i'm sure this thread comes up several times a year by us noobs but it's new for me.
btw, i'm not advocating or opposing the celebration of holidays, just giving a perspective we've taken recently.].
okay, so before we got df'd a few weeks back, we weren't sure if we were going to start celebrating holidays... for a few reasons:.

I bought two 3' pre lit trees and flanked my fireplace with them. Ornaments to follow. I will get a big tree another year, but this year, two little ones will be fine. My ex-JW fam celebrates so we do stuff at their houses. But, yes, we are full fledged into it.
The origins have no meaning to most of us, the religious connotation has no meaning to most of us either. It is just a fun family time. GO FOR IT!

No spaghetti stringed dresses at KH or FS
by White Dove inmy advice to any victim of jw's that would complain about sisters wearing these pretty dresses would be to take a pair of scissors with them to the hall and cut the strings off right in front of the complainers and ask if that is better.
go strapless!

Why was this bumped?
At the same time, I am glad because I PM'd a poster who might have some advice, but I feel like an idiot because this was 3 years ago, and he is going to be like why are you asking me this....it was 3 years ago. LOL
