How do JW's justify lying to people they call on?

you may remember my recent experiance with two jw's at my door.

they lied non stop to me and even when i pointed out their lies they still did not tell the truth.. do they really think that they will win people into their cult by lying to them?

don't they think about what will happen when the person finds out they have been lying to them?.

They are not reasonable because they are told what to believe. It's a really simple way to live and rather carefree to have someone else tell you how to think and what to say to other people. Little drones....

Need advice on going back to college

i need some kind of advisor, are there professionals who can steer one the right way on these kinds of things?

or do i need to do the legwork and call a bunch of schools to see what is best?

i have no problem doing it and have already got started, but i am very confused on the best path to take here.. my background is that i went to a business school in the later 90's.

My background is that I went to a business school in the later 90's. Did not finish my degree for obvious Jdub reasons.

But I have always worked and had good skills and have a full time job in corporate america. However, I have to at least get it on my resume that I am in school working towards my degree dammit. I have a job, etc. but would like to continue to advance and have started to look. My problem is that I do have good connections and they all seem a waste if I do not get my booty back at school.

Got my transcript from my old college. Have looked online at various schools. My aunt is a professer at a well known university and she told me iy has been too long for me and I would need to start over. This seems weird to me. I thought some credits would at least transfer. Would love to test out of classes....cannot afford crazy tuition, and also, this is the biggie, I have to do it all online if possible. I have my kids on opposite days each week and I could never be in a classroom at the same day each week unless I switched parenting times and my ex is so difficult he would make it hell for me.

So please, fellow smartie pants, help a girl out! Thanks!!

As Far as JW's and Thanksgiving go...

it's one of the most confusing holidays to jw's.

it doesn't specify who to give thanks to, it's a u.s. holiday that is semi-patriotic and semi-religious but not necessarily either one.. i suppose jw's should go out of their way to avoid giving thanks this thursday so jehovah doesn't get pissed at them for being so slightly normal worldly and maybe accidentally smite them if armageddon starts this thursday..

My Window cleaner is a JW!

i've had the same window cleaner for 2 years.

very cheap and does his job well.. the other week though i heard him whistling.... at first i thought my mind was playing tricks but no... he was whistling kingdom melodies!.

My ex is a window washer. Although in our divorce papers he insisted he be called a window cleaner....LOL LOL LOL. My lawyer even got the biggest kick out of it, and we had to document the new "title" for the CEO himself.

reading some of these threads reminded me of a situation a few years ago.

my uncle and ex fil were both po's and very well known in the area due to rbc stuff and their general big shooterness in the borg.

so of course they take out the co and do after an assembly to a nice italian place and the waitress is being quite inquisitive on why everyone is so dressed up.

My uncle and ex FIL were both PO's and very well known in the area due to RBC stuff and their general big shooterness in the borg. So of course they take out the CO and DO after an assembly to a nice Italian place and the waitress is being quite inquisitive on why everyone is so dressed up. Well don't you know that these fine brothers did not use that chance to informal witness to the waitress who obviously was guided by the angels to get that very table, with who??? No one else but two brothers (one being annointed, Gordon Merrill was his name) as close to Jesus as one could get!! And they refused to tell her they were JW's coming from an assembly.

It was so shocking how they were so secretive and unwilling to give her an explaination as to their outstanding dress code....

okay so when i was talking with the brothers, somehow they got me to agree to come up with a list of jw teachings i don't agree with.

for some reason the po gave the number as "12".

don't ask me why he came to that conclusion.

Good list. I am surprised they are humoring your doubts. Usually they just DF you and be done with you. Another job well done for the good ol boys.
