i was just asking because i would like to form a protesting group for this years assembly at the millenium stadium.displaying banners about u.n connection,paedophile coverups,false prophecies etc.its our chance to fight back.

I guess Im as Welsh as they come! Im from Barry,South Wales. Im assuming that this is the BBQ someone invited me to on one of my posts! They never did reply so I didnt understand so thanks for clearing that up for me.

As regards the protests......touchy! Would love to do it but the only problem is that my family are all so involved in it, they would be really hurt by me taking part. Thats not to say that I dont agree but Im gonna have to give this VERY careful consideration. That may sound like a cop out and I guess Ive been hurt by the JW's the same as the next person but Im still at that awkward part of not wanting to completely speak out against them..to do that would be to attack myself really. Sad eh? Been out for 10 years now and I still cant quite do it. I will keep you posted though and Ill certainly pass the message on to the Welsh Ex's!!!!! Ill see what I can do!

Will they disassociate me?

my boyfriend was disgusted with the jws after the panorama programme, and has decided to da himself.

none of his family are jw and he just simply does not want to be listed as a jw anymore.. since we are known by the congregation to be together, will they da or df me for seeing him?.

bear in mind, neither of us have set foot in the kh for a couple of years.

An interesting discussion.....

Im disfellowshipped adn have recently started seeing an old family friend who ironically was a mini servant and a whisker away from being an elder! Obviously he doesnt go anymore but has never been DF/DA - I often worry that when we are seen together, the elders wont take too long to get round his house to discuss bad association etc...

however, should that happen, he said that he will refuse to discuss his personal life with them and as it has been a few years since he went to the KH, they have no right to DF him based on something they know nothing about.

I hope this is the case anyway!

my old pal, mr dub-in-the-pub, just shook his head miserably over his guinness after denying having seen it.

now he wants to borrow the video recording i made.

My parents who are extreme;y active witnesses did watch and they were ashamed of what they saw.

My father, an elder and chairman of the HLC said that the way the brothers/Gb declined to commment to the point where they made sense was awful and worse still..the way that presiding overseer just turned his back on the reporter and walked away made it look as though there really is sonething to hide.......

DOH -THERE IS SOMETHING TO HIDE!

Aside from this though came the usual 'Jehovah sees all' blah blah blah

chapter on partaking/being anointed.. can it be that they are thinking of de-emphasizing or fading.

I know that the way my parents used to 'discipline' us would now be considered child abuse......we too had the wooden spoon (what is it with that?!!!!) but very often it was broken on us...it then ranged to any object within reach basically, be it belt, shoe, book, fist etc etc..you get the picture.

My mother has since apologised for it so I guess thats where it ends, better than nothing at all.

Having children of my own though just makes me more determined not to be that way right or wrong.

I can remember the screaming children being dragged out the back, the cries of "no mummy/daddy" etc but everyone seemed to think this was normal. I dont think its the case anymore as the government has started to clamp down on it but even so, it leaves the generation behind when it was acceptable.

Like I said before, I dont think it has really affected me so I wont go on about it but it really hit home when I saw a NSPCC advert the other day (National Society of the Protection of Child Cruelty-i think!)....it was the picture of a little girl who'd wet the bed and then she'd wet herself again after being smacked for it..the advert read........

"she wet herself because she was smacked, she was smacked because she wet herself"

That hit it too close to home but really proves the point. Where do you stop?

PAEDOPHILE in Llantwit Major Congregation-UK

there is a paedophile in the llantwit major congregation in south glamorgan,uk.

he was disfellowshipped from barry congregation following a judicial meeting where approximately 20 sisters aged between 9 and upwards gave statements accusing him of alledgely commiting......child abuse, indecent behaviour and rape.

he of course denied all allegations and the elders did their best to protect him and took years to finally get the situation sorted but eventually, they had no way in which to protect him anymore so he was removed from the congregation.

It is interesting how many of us have very similar tales to tell...you brought up a few points rosalyn that parallel my own life. I wasnt exactly kicked out as such but at 15 when I decided to no longer be a witness, I know that living at home wasnt an option. I dont remember the exact details but I know when we booked a taxi and walked out the door, my mum remained in the living room watching tele.

Another parallel, I am still going though counselling at the moment to try and work out who I actually am. So many of us lose our identities because we are forced to keep our true feelings inside for fear they are 'sinful' but will we ever get there? I really cant answer....Im just trying to be happy and thats the hardest battle I think.

Like you, I always try and look out for the ones that leave. Even thought Im disfellowshipped, I always say hello to everyone I meet, simply because Im sick of feeling ashamed for being me and I wont hang my head anymore and hope they dont catch my eye. My crime? I fell in love. Of course, I can now see what a serious sin this was, I deserved to be shunned by all my family and friends for such an unnatural act!

Anyway, those of you that are thinking of leaving, take some courage. Im NOT an apostate, my family are still WELL in there and I have respect for them and their choices but simply to say that if you need to talk and some proof that there really is life after the JW's.......email!

I happen to agree. Child beating is never shunned and Im amazed that this subject has never been taken up by outside interests. Personally, yes, looking back I know that the way my parents 'disciplined' me was way out of order and unnecessary but as to whether it affected me? I really dont know.

I know that having a next door neighbour knock the door to find out why your children are screaming is not Christian.
