Two JW elder types arranged a "Bible Study" with me in 1968. I was 21 at the time with little scriptural knowledge or knowledge about the organization. I was clearly in over my head from the start. My Dad came out of his office downstairs, asked if he could join the study and proceeded to turn both men on their heads with the Bible and facts. That's when I wanted to be like him and began my own research into the organization and their interpretive abuse.

I'm not sure about the Boy Scouts. But perhaps he might argue that churches like the Catholic Church have finally openly admitted their error, removed guilty persons from office and attempted to make reparations. The WTS, on the other hand hypocritically condemns other churches, often refuses to report pedophiles in it's ranks, protects them if there aren't witnesses to the molestations and has to be dragged to court to make reparations.

Very good question Smiddy. I'll try it when they eventually get back to door to door fieldwork.
They might respond that Jesus gave them authority in Matthew 28....another false claim. And as to things they still believe...Jesus selected them because they did not believe in the Trinity doctrine, immortality of the soul and eternal torment.
i just saw a post on reddit: ‘wt are prepping the r&f for changes in the march/april meeting workbook’.. in the post the person noted what they read (for march 8) and it mentioned bethel adjustments and reference was made to 2015 when bethelites were let go.. if this happens (yet again) another bunch of people are being sent home to fend for themselves in the big bad world at an advanced age with little to no preparation.
even though this doesn’t surprise me, it could not come at a worse time with a global pandemic and massive job loss everywhere..congregations are already in turmoil because of so many who reached retirement age totally unprepared because they were told armageddon would be here before they reached that age.
this is in addition to all the other ‘needy’ and troubled types in the congregations looking for as$istance.. i hope any bethelites there have a plan and some people they can contact.

Jesus seems to have wanted to withold specific information at times, such as forbidding demons from confessing who he was. If he had identified the other sheep as Gentiles for example he might have been rejected and persecuted needlessly by the Jews as Paul was for including them in God's plan of salvation.

if Jesus' own followers didn't understand fully what He meant by calling Himself the son of man and the son of God, then how much more so everyone else? The full disclosure of who He was came after the resurrection (because no one understood that the Messiah would have to be crucified and then raised) when in John 21 Thomas calls Him "my Lord and my God!"

my jw mom just died last week, about 6 1/2 months after my non jw dad died (dehydration, starvation, imo) i was the executor of that will.
before a month had passed of his death, my dad & mom's will was changed.
i didn't know until she died.
Or you could just accept your mom's will and refuse to be a pain in the neck only a little lower.
i’ve been gone a long time.
after my mother passed away a few years ago, i pretty much lost most contact with the witnesses.
a couple that were family friends for many years stopped checking on me to say hello.
