Where do you see the Organization in the next 10 years?
by ukpimo inrealistically, between now and 2034, what do you think watchtower will change or reform to appear more mainstream?
what business opportunities do you see watchtower getting involved in?.
my predictions are as follows: .

It will continue to shrink until it reaches the sustainable size for a cult of its nature - like the current Bible Students. -

To be fair, Biden thought he was giving his opinion on white macadamian nut iced cream, with pecans, when served without a waffle cone - which is, in fact, pure garbage.

FBI: Child Prostitution Rings --- in the USA
by Rabbit inwe hear about this kind of abasement in other '3rd world' countries...where rich american (and others) can abuse foreign children on so-called 'sex vacations'.
apparently, us 'sex tourists' don't have to go that far anymore, there are plenty of home grown victims that are our own citizens.
i knew that this occured here -- i was just shocked at the scale.. i applaude the fbi and others in their efforts to find and save these children.. *sigh*.

Old thread. I'll fix the title. It needs a subtle change:

JWN, 23 years posting Blondie
by blondie incan i call you friends, i think so after 23 years posting here.
i am dismayed how jwn is being "dominated" or taken over by a few posters, peppering the comments.
in the past, the admin did not approve of this and did remove some posters from jwn.

When Ray Franz left the WT, he was deeply religious. All of the former WT members of that time considered themselves Christians, 'in search of Christian Freedom'.
I don't mind the religious topics, just like I don't mind the political. You choose what you want to read.
It definitely is a drag if someone is just posting long cut/paste fragments from articles. Or just pages of links to article after article, video after video. But that's not a function of the topic - that's a general behavior. I've seen those threads where it turns into more of a spamming than an interaction.

Mandated Shunning is a Crime
by Lee Marsh inmandated shunning is on the rise around the world with devastating effects on millions of people.
shunning that is mandated by organized groups to its members is a form of both physical and psychological violence against those people being shunned and cut off from their family and life-long relationships.
mandated shunning means that the shunning is ordered from the top down.

Witnesses are deeply delusional and frankly I would have no patience to deal with them ever again - and glad I don’t have to.
And that, IMHO, is where ex-jws need to be. Very healthy. They aren't worthy of your time.

Rumour 144,000 literal number teaching to be abandoned at Annual Meeting
by slimboyfat insay it ain’t so!
.
in one sense it’s a no brainer because the figures just don’t add up any more.. in another (negative) sense it’s a no brainer because it’s been fundamental to jws since year dot and might undermine the whole thing?

Meh. I don't think they will do it.
Where does this rumor come from? Anything better than "there is a rumor out there"?

When you see the net long-term consequences of the government over-taxing income of certain people, does it move you to want the government to stop over-taxing income so that others don't get fleeced?
Sure. I would rather the government not tax anyone. It is theft, fundamentally. So?
When a parent sees their child harmed by a vaccine, does it move that parent to want the big pharma company to stop making that vaccine so that other children don't get hurt?
Yes, SO?
When human rights activists see that some women are using abortion as birth control, does it move those human rights activists to want the courts to make abortions illegal so that other babies don't get killed?
Yes, SO?
Look - people get hurt all the time. And that moves people to "right the wrong". That's fine. But people can't right the wrong by doing something wrong. Which brings me to my next comment.
No one here is proposing violence toward anyone on the GB or in the JWBorg organization. But it is not unreasonable for these people who have lost loved ones and know the pain that comes from the disfellowshipping doctrine to want to have the source of that pain removed so that others don't have to suffer in the same way.
I wasn't proposing that anyone was suggesting this. What I was saying is that you can't use your "hurt" as justification for doing something that would 1) violate actual rights, and 2) on net, cause a lot more problems than it would solve. We could "solve" the "WT problem" by just killing them all. But the ends do not justify the means.
The corporate structure of the WTBT$ is hurting people. It doesn't matter if the WTBT$ claims to be "religious". If the government overtaxed you and said they were doing it in the name of "religion" it'd still be overtaxing you and their claim for overtaxing you would be fraudulent, because God never told them to overtax anybody.
This is highly confused. Are you suggesting that getting tax-free status is the same as acting as a government organization? So if the government doesn't steal from you, that makes you a part of the government?
It's not a matter of the WTBT$ being "a religion". The WTBT$ is working as a governing entity of their own little world-wide empire. The Governing Body says they are doing things "in the name of religion" but some of those things are illegal according to their own "constitution". Since they are breaking their own rules, they are liable to lose their tax-exempt non-profit status and the legal backing for their registered corporate structure.
What is the WTB&TS "constitution"?

That's it in a nutshell. They only reached out because the WT said they could, not because their own conscience said so. That they suddenly want to talk to estranged family and former friends after many years because someone else said so from the pulpit or in writing is reprehensible.
True. But the responsibility for that lies with those family members. Don't let them hide behind the organization.

Voting, why make it easier to vote??
by moomanchu indemocrats are always harping on and on about voting rights and how the ability to vote should be easier and access unrestricted.
the most progressive ones want to allow prisoners, and illegals with no voter id the ability to vote along with the criminals, drug addicts, and uneducated low lives who already can vote.. .
after they push for everyone and anyone to be able to vote they then tell us it is a sacred privilege, a duty and honor, and a big responsibility blah, blah ect..... if it is all those grandiose things are true i think it should be harder to vote not easier.

Just do this:
1) No more withholding tax.
2) Move tax day from April 15 to approx. 10 days before election day.
