  I received my invite... thanks....

  I won't be attending though... I don't think I could stomach a DC for more than 10 minutes... hats off to those with the will power to hang in there until the time is right to exit... good luck

  i read this article and thought... "only a matter of time before jws start getting hauled off to jail for attempted murder and manslaughter charges.".

  one would think..."why is this person fighting so hard for their child to die???

  maybe they don't want the kid and figure they'll be free from the responsiblility?".

  The sad thing is that there are JWs out there who fight to prevent their kids from getting transfusions but really aren't 100% sure if they'll ever see their kids again (at the resurrection field or elsewhere)... Some fight these child transfusions out of sheer pressure to conform (fearing disfellowshipping or other forms of shunning from the congo). Others fight "just in case" it happens to be "Biblical" to do so after all (just so they'll have their slot reserved at the Lion petting zoo after Armageddon)...

  just looking at latest yearbook and noticed something about the worldwide report (2010)... only 19 countries/lands reported an increase of 10% or more, and only 3 of those had 1,000+ publishers in 2009 (still under 2000 publishers in those 3 lands..) .

  any thoughts?.

  this means you have less than 40 months to dazzle us with your verbal gymnastics and explain why armaggeddon hasn't started yet.

  we realize that freddy is no longer with us, so before releasing any "new light tm" regarding 1914, please endeavor to be a lot more creative and make an effort not to insult our intelligence... (we now have more ways to call you out on your bs, so you'll need to really put your heads together on this).

We realize that Freddy is no longer with us, so before releasing any "New Light TM " regarding 1914, please endeavor to be a lot more creative and make an effort NOT to insult our intelligence... (we now have more ways to call you out on your BS, so you'll need to really put your heads together on this). Surely you can pull this off within this 40-month time table. But don't even consider changing the definition of "generation" again since you already used up your last mulligan on this already early last year.

  We'll be waiting... Again, please try to be a little more creative this time. Your time starts..... NOW...... Tic-Toc-Tic-Toc-Tic-Toc......

  well, its that time of year again when some members of my family decide that they need to go preach where the need is great.

  Not only is the GB deliberately ignoring areas WHERE the need is greatest... they also ignore WHEN... I mean seriously, unless you're working a retirement communities, why would you expect to find people in their homes 9AM-11AM on week days or even awake at 10AM on a Saturday... if the GB really wanted to reach people with this "door-to-door" method, they'd be scheduling field service after dinner time (MON-FRI) or Sunday afternoon... but that ain't gonna happen...

  Why are men not allowed to do the bible study parts at the service meeting?

  i know why they do it, because the women would complain, but it's not logical, the men need to be trained on how to conduct a bible study with a student, also.

  if it doesn't matter, why are the sisters doing it?

  just to give them something to do?

  Lies about Suicides in Congregations

  have you ever noticed what the elders say when a depressed person commits suicide?.

  i unfortunately knew of two people in my area, one a guy about my age, the other was in his mid 40's that commited suicide.

  both times, at their memorials, the elders from stage said that they were home alone and was cleaning their hand gun/ rifle when it accidently fired and killed them.

  Talesin and Dissed: Thanks for clearing that up (about the right to bear arms)... I guess it IS a local thing as there's no sport hunting anywhere near my area (that's all I'll say about that, for now).

  Please excuse my complete ignorance, but I assume Canadians are also allowed to use their fire arms in self defense (against humans)?

  Steve 2: I thought this story seemed quite odd also, but I've heard a lot stranger things come out of elders' mouths at the most inappropriate times in the past.
