  the watchtower's luxurious aircraft was damaged the first time in 1995:

  That airplane has probably never been to a non-exotic location since it was under the Watchtower's ownership.

  I knew a brother who owned a Cessna 172 and all the elders from nearby congregations knew it. So they would constantly try to get the Spanish congo at a nearby island (in the Caribbean) to invite them for the Sunday Public Talk just so they can get a ride on this plane and enjoy the island... The brother who owned the airplane was rarely given any money for gas or maintenance because the elders who hitched rides with him were usually poor...

  I think this means they will no longer play with matches because they've been burnt way too many times... besides, the internet has kept them at bay... all they can do now is say we're closer today than we were yesterday... and even that will get old in a few years...

  Nov.15th WT - WT Society Wants & Needs Elders- Not very High Standards

  as many of us realize- times are hard for the wt society getting men to " reach out " for an elders or ministerial servants position as young men aged ( 18-35 ) are opting out of doing that due to the pressure they are under from the wt society leaders and just that it takes up too much valuable time where men could be earning a living and helping their own families instead of a thankless magazine printing corporation.

  in the article " train others to reach out " in this issue it has lots of strange, controlling, yet perplexing statements which i'm sure will confuse jw men who are considering " reaching out ".

  in fact, i think this article will discourage more than encourage them from doing so.. on pg.

  I am officially 'mentally diseased' by WBT$ standards!

  last night whilst i was relaxing 2 elders came to my door to tell me i am officially da'd because of my 'actions'.

  they weren't specific but i have been to church and telling others about the wbt$ scandals.. i was told they thought i was rude for ignoring their letters and not attending my jc.. my reply: 'you were the rude ones for sending me hounding letters when i specifically asked you never to contact me!'.

  i got a 'hurumph' from the lead eldub.. i don't remember the whole conversation but they were annoyed i kept referring to the wbt$ as 'just a big business' but i told them they were on my property uninvited so they'd have to listen to my opinion and i don't have to listen to theirs.

  during casual conversation at a social gethering, an elder mentioned to me that no one on earth could ever name their child jehovah because the holy spirit would prevent that from happening... i asked him what biblical proof he had to make such a statement... he got upset and replied: "you think i'm making this up?... try to find someone on the internet named jehovah"... at that point i just walked away and left him ranting... the alcohol on his breath was just too much for me to handle...

  I think Nancy Drew is realing asking who is considered a pedophile in the WT (not necessarily what constitutes grounds for disfellowshipping)... I believe there could be a difference... for example, the two guys you mention are allegedly repentant pedophiles (versus disfellowshipped pedophiles)... the only difference is the disfellowshipped pedophiles didn't shed tears during their JC while the repentant pedophiles DID shed tears during their JC... but for the WT's legal purposes, I believe they're both still considered pedophiles (repentant or not)... just saying

  A JW is never considered a pedophile unless there are two witnesses that personally witnessed the JW commiting pedophilia OR the authorities find this JW guilty in a court of law...

  otherwise, he's free to come and go as he pleases and even have privileges (including being an elder)... oh, and they might mention something to him about staying away from children in the congo and forget about it 5 minutes later....

  What would the WT do if anti shunning laws were passed?

  what would the wt do if say, a country or countries enacted a law that made shunnung illegal?.

  punishable by time in prison or heavy fines?.

  would they have the gall to 'obey god as ruler' rather than man, and actually continue the practice in defiance of the law even though they would incur the wrath of governments?

  they would know about this "new anti-shunning legislation" at least a year before it is passed into law (since the watchtower lawyers have "friends" in high places who would tip them off way ahead of everyone else)... then they would simply have a special talk at the next assembly or convention (again, way before the new legislation is even known by the general public) and then announce that there is "new light" regarding the treatment of disfellowshipped or dissasociated ones... this "new light" will basically change the current policy to one of a personal conscience matter... "you know what the bible says, we're not going to take any action if you have association with disfellowshipped ones, but..."
