What does it say about an organization that claims to be God's organization when....
by stuckinamovement inyou are told that what sets your organization apart from all other religions is that there is no human leader, just jesus, but if you want to follow jesus and receive salvation you must obey and follow the leadership and direction of 8 self appointed human leaders.. .
it's elders or servants cannot resign a position of responsibility for personal reasons, or without an interrogation by other elders and then permission by headquarters.
despite the bible saying at 1 tim.

No, but 9 or 10 seems perfectly acceptable.
What a horrible story. What an inablility on the part of JW's to look at anything with a clear perspective. I can't believe I was/am a part of that.

Man, I hate it when I hit that enter key too soon!
My question is
Is everyone on that site really JW's looking for a mate? Are there any Ex-JW's on it? Why else does the society not want the brothers and sisters on it? What would be the harm?

If you CHANGE what you said was TRUE...How could it have been true??
by Terry inif the bible says anything; it says what it says.. what is said doesn't change because nobody is continuing to write it.. the bible cannot change, then.. god's word (if that is what the bible is) doesn't change.however, if any person or group interprets the bible's doctrines and the doctrines change, then,it must be the interpreter who is in error.. (i call it "error" because; why change it otherwise?).
who would have enough hubris to risk representing god's word one way---and declare it truth--only to change that truth into something else?.
answer: the watchtower society!.

Great post Terry and so well organized that the timeline is quite easy to see. It would be helpful if when we posted timelines, we always included the publication and year of the change. I liked that you put in some of the dates of the Watchtowers. Thanks

Full transcripts of judicial case.
by Hobo Ken inin january 2009 i was disfellowshipped from jw's.
i documented the whole process and recorded it which you can find here:- death or obedience.
many people asked for english transcripts of these recordings and i'm pleased to say i now have full transcripts kindly supplied anonymously for those who wish to read them.. these will be of great help to those who have trouble hearing or cannot understand the scottish accents on the recordings.. they are available here:- the trial of a jehovah's witness the new site has it's own audio link for each transcript so you can listen along as you read.. the person who has supplied me is interested in the moral and ethical issues this case has thrown up.

Why do I keep digging?
by ranmac init didnt take a lot of independant research, along with a life full of ridiculous experiences in the religion, to realize that the organization and its gb are just another religion focused on control and conformity.
so why do i keep digging into the insanity and contradictions that they're based on.
i think i know why, just want to hear how others feel..

I can't stop either. I am studying harder now than I have ever done in the past. Does being a born-in make a difference? I don't know, but I am a born-in.

I think it is much more strict now than it used to be. It's ridiculous to think that kid's can't "hook up" just because they are supervised or in "groups". If you want to have sex, then you'll have it. Parents really can't do anything about it. You need to just cross your fingers and hope they make good decisions.
