You have such a good way with stories. I hope you tell us more.

Most mags placed.
by fadinfast inmention was made round her the other day of mag placement [was it a complete waste of time etc] and this story came to mind that i thought you may enjoy, could subtitle it "the real use for mags" me and my mate decided to go do some 'outback' witnessing, the word got around , and out comes all them unplaced mags, like a mud slide threatening to overwhelm/overload you.
a full days drive, check in at local pub.
up very late next morning, i say to maca,'lets go see old jimmy he's good to start with.

How Eco-Friendly is the Watchtower?
by donuthole ini have plenty of anecdotal evidence of witnesses going through life with the attitude of "we'll just clean it up in the paradise.
" i wondered if this kind of attitude was manifest in the bethel homes and factories.
is recycling something that the watchtower engages in at its facilities?

Outlaw, you are sooooo...right!
Everyone I know has probably over a hundred Watchtowers and Awakes in their homes. If each publisher only kept their personal copies of the magazines until the new cd came out, why that alone would be 112 million copies. Add to that all the lit not placed (back issues, god I must have 200 right now, and I throw them out occasionally just because it's embarrassing) you could have maybe a BILLION WT's and Awakes!
It's a good thing we have the promise that God will bring to ruin those ruining the earth.

We don't baptize our children as infants, we let them decide - UTTER BULL****
by jambon1 ini always found that one particularly laughable.. the jw's would always look for plaudits because they don't christen/baptize infants.
as if they are free thinking pioneers of christianity who let their children come to their own conclusions.. no, they don't baptize their children.. yet,.
they would be happy to make a life & death medical choice for them before they are even old enough to think for themselves.they are happy to have their children 'fight the fine fight' on their parents behalf all the way through primary/high school.

Goodness, even if they aren't baptized, the parents get them signed up as "unbaptized publishers" and then if they mess up, it is announced "Blah, blah is no longer an unbaptized publisher." (Read that as no longer an approved associate, read that as not good association, and voila....de facto disfellowshipping as far as friendships and invitations go.) The threat of this, and peer pressure, "Why are you not baptized?" is supposed to keep them in line.
It's terrible, and I put my own children through it. I apologized to the one who won't call me an apostate. The others......that will have to wait. Right now they would tell me they are glad I did.

I think I know what you mean. If you mean nerdy looking people, then yeah, you are right. It seems that only those kids are the ones that stay. A lot of the kids never show up too long after they are out of school. (Lol, they must teach critical thinking skills there!) As far as everyone else, well, they are on the sisters constantly at the hall and the assemblies about MODESTY, very specifically, clothing and hairstyles. As a consequence, they have us all looking like Amway dealers.

Does the Bible Teach a Second Chance After Death?
by Ding inthe bible teaches a resurrection of the dead, but does it teach a second chance after death or a judgment based on our life before we died?.
hebrews 9:27 says: " just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will .
appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.".

shunning is love - Feb 15 2011 Watchtower
by jj123jj123 in18 if you face a similar situation, please remember that jehovah sympathizes with you.
by cutting off contact with the disfellowshipped or disassociated one, you are showing that you hate the attitudes and actions that led to that outcome.
however, you are also showing that you love the wrongdoer enough to do what is best for him or her.
