  Wikileaks and wt Quotes site -- see any parallels?

  a few hours ago, a news report said, "a lawyer for wikileaks founder julian assange says they are making arrangements with british police to meet and discuss an arrest warrant that sweden has ...".

  this may be another case of david and goliath.

  our canadian friend who hosted the quotes (watchtower publication quotations -- no commentary) website simply didn't have deep enough pockets to challenge the vicious tentacles of the society's legal team and their threat of $100,000 punitive damages.

  You are so right. I hear all the time from the "friends" about how Jehovah did this or that (some really stupid things, like helping them to choose their new car). It would make me angry, the "I woke up and said, Oh Jehovah, let the order not be put in year, I think the other shade of blue is better!" Yeah, he was worried about the color of your new car, but he let my sister's daughter die. Right.

  It's disrespectful to others who suffered real tragedies. As if somehow we weren't as dear to Jehovah. It's arrogant.

  but our situation is very difficult and quite high profile.... i was raised as a jw and my mother was very strict and abusive.

  i got baptized at age 14.. my mother actually called on my (present) husband's mom in service.

  she was on the initial call resulting in his mom coming in the truth and him being raised in it from about age 8 or 9.. despite a very abusive step-father, he followed his mom's lead and came into the truth.

  i am new here i have posted only a couple of times.i still an nervous though.

  i left the witness in 2008 and am still struggling with my belief syestem .although i am now reading richard dawkins the god delusion which by the way is a really good book i am already in chapter 2.so here i am new and unsure, if i should be on this site or not..

  Just a humble reminder for us all

  i was pulling out some weeds in my back yard a few days ago.. there was one particular weed that gave me a lot of trouble to pull out.

  it surprised me because it didn't look as strong and hearty as it was.. it got me to thinking.

  how am i qualified to even declare how "tough" this weed is?

  i read that some are quite happy that another gb bites the dust.. i think of my "faithful" elderly jw mother who helped many many families come into the "truth".

  she's an intelligent woman.

  however, she's blinded by her beliefs (being in a cult).

  How can I be happy that anyone dies?

  On another note, how in the world was the governing body functioning with such old, old, old men running it? 97? Wow, if he's like my mom, he's sleeping 75% of the day.

  1. an entire 1 hour discourse on helping our children become little innocent martyrs for the wt via.

  their flawed and unreasonable blood doctrine.

  Is it really going to make a difference that the older ones are gone? After all, the replacements are handpicked by the existing body. Wouldn't the old-timers have been choosing like-minded replacements? After all, I know some younger JW's who have a much harder stance on a number of things than many older ones. I dunno....
