A hearty welcome to you! I certainly hope your wife will awaken soon. It is good that she has cried with you and is keeping your conversations private. A very good sign.

my story, would like some advice
by deservingone26 inim looking for some advice.. so i grew up as a witness was baptized when i was seventeen, which by the way i was pushed into baptizm cuse my parents kept asking me when i was and threatned to not buy me a car if i didnt get baptized.
since it was never in my heart i was never very dedicated and was disfellowshipped by nineteen i started the process of coming back but after bout four months i moved out.
i started partying alot mainly with my other disfellowshipped friends and nonactive jw frien, we were drinking alot and smoking weed but soon i started feeling the need to go back so i started up at the meetings but i got bored and went back to my old ways, this has been what i have been doing for the last five years, partying getting drunk and drugs and then stopping and going back to the meetings for a couple months, the same process for last the last almost five years.

I am sorry to hear about your troubles. There is a life well lived that doesn't take being a witness. You can give up the party lifestyle, if that is what you want, without going back to the kingdom hall. Lots of people do. The world isn't divided into just good and bad people, the way the "world" is portrayed at the hall. Welcome to the board. We'll try to give you support.

I asked my best friend how the GB makes its decsions last night...
by dontplaceliterature inmy best friend does not know about my recent mental defection from the watchtower, but i am having trouble keeping my feelings from him completely....so, last night, i asked my him if he thought the governing body was always in 100% agreement about every policy/doctrine decision they make.
" i asked him how he thought they went about making those decisions and he said that, "they probably discuss it as a group, research it, read the bible together, and discuss it some more until they come to a conclusion...just like a boe would when deciding a judicial matter.
" i said: "don't you think that if they were jehovah's 'mouth-piece' and they are indeed being guided by jesus christ and holy spirit, that there would be no doubt about what the right course of action is?

When discussing the blood issue, don't forget to laugh good-naturedly and bring up fractions. How you just don't get the fractions. Even take the side that taking blood may be wrong, yes wrong, but what about this deal with the fractions? It is a stumbling point for you, a little. Some of these fractions takes the stored blood of a thousand or more people. What's up with that? How can that be right? (You looked this up because someone recently brought it up to you, so you checked into these fractions, and what they entailed on the internet.)
Don't be too serious. Being good-natured is part of the plan, you know.

Help for men and women stuck in
by im stuck in ini have been reading alot of posts here lately.
one recurring theme seems to be problems with our mates that are still in.
so i thought perhaps we could put our thoughts together in a organized manner.

I sometimes think that we try to convince others of reality of the Watchtower's bogus blarney. We do so using whatever it was that rang our own bell. You have to try to find the other person's achilles heel. All witnesses have one. That's the bell you have to ring.

My Marriage Ending...Or Other Options
by doinmypart ini don't usually post regarding my personal relationship, but i need some help.. i've been married for 20+ years (married young, both of us raised as witnesses), and my wife and i have kids.
my wife feels like i've disappointed her, made a fool of her, and betrayed her when i stopped being a witness.
other than the witness-thing we seem to have a pretty good marriage, but she can't get over the fact that i'm never going to be a witness again.

Blondie's comments were dead-on. Ask those questions.

Who or What Helped YOU Get Out Of The Watchtower Mindset?
by minimus inwas there a person, a book, a situation that helped you see that the "truth" was not what it was supposed to be?

It was collecting and reading old literature. I bought the Studies in the Scriptures as just artifacts and ended up reading them. Beginning of the end.

Let us know what action the school takes. This is something I would worry about too.
