i was thinking about this the other day when doing a bit of tidying up of my wardrobe.
all the kh suits are now pushed to the back of the wardrobe and i am seriously thinking about a visit to the charity shop to get rid of most of them.. for me one of the (few) enjoyable aspects of being a jw was getting dressed up.
my secular work very rarely involves putting on a dress suit & tie so i miss getting dressed up - smart suit , tie , shiny shoes , slapping on the aftershave.
NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I really don't miss that part at all. In fact NLW and I just got rid of a good portion of our JW dress clothes. Just looking at the clothes brought back unpleasant thoughts. Like the couple of pieces that I always wore in Field Service. BLECK!!

on friday morning, sometime before noon, my former son-in-law [for lack of better term, for he and my daughter were never married], father and custodial parent of my middle granddaughter, was found dead of an overdose of pain-medication.
perhaps oxycontin, though i am unsure of the specific drug at the moment.. he was enduring pain from an accident with his moped [yes, he was lifetime license removed for drinking] that occurred a year or so back.
his shoulder was injured and he had a surgery scheduled soon.

let's forget that most members leave due to the wrong beliefs,doctrines and practices of the wts!.
i was bored out of my mind from the repetitive: talks,prayers,ministry school demonstrations,field service talks(peddle magazines),assemblies,special talks and watchtower magazine study articles.

Meetings were soooooo boring. I remember looking at the clock, looking at all the paragraphs left to cover, and just groaning. Sometimes I would blank out my mind and think about something else just to pass the time. An ex-mormon that we were talking to a few weeks ago mentioned how after not going for years and years she went to the church. It was the same old stuff that was being said 30 years ago. There was no new stuff. It made us laugh as that is exactly how the JW stuff is.

we all try to be a little bit nicer to each other and everyone we come in contact with, do random acts of kindness, and try to be a positive force for good in this world.. help someone who needs it, whether they say thank you or not.

did you ever tell the elders that you knew of "wrongdoing" or that you knew a certain person wasn't adhering to the rules?.
Never. But then again I never knew anything bad about anybody because I was a GOOD girl. I do know some things about others now that I would like to fink on if push came to shove with my honny and I, but NLW tells me to be good. GRRRR.

me and mom was having a conversation over breakfast a few weeks ago, and she brought up the circuit assembly that she just the brothers warned about apostates and going on 'questionable' internet sites.
we started talking about heaven and 'the generation' change.
i told her how could a paradise happen when science prove otherwise.
I wonder why lions ate straw in the original paradise, but then God made them amino acid deficient in the imperfect world so they had to eat raw meat. Seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through. Also, who kept the gazelles in check while the lion was eating straw? And where did the lion's extra stomachs go? When you start thinking for yourself for the first time it's amazing how many logical problems you quickly run in to.
It pains me that I used to *love* the Sunday talk outline on Noah's flood. Since leaving JW's, I've thought of dozens of problems with the story. I recently happened across this article, and found I've only scratched the surface of the ludicrous.

i know that it is a lie.
It comes and goes for me too. We have joined some groups through meetup, reached out to other people, and I am looking for a place to volunteer. Making new connections (and maybe friends) has helped me greatly. I do think that as time goes on the family hurt will go away mostly. It doesn't seem to affect NLW anymore but he's a guy and already had a messed up family so maybe thats why.

i thought it'd be fun to talk about what part of the conventions just made you cringe or be annoyed with.
i can remember a couple things:.
i remember after the tms when they put the list in the back on the announcement board, there were people that would get up while the last song was being sung to write down the info.
Getting up early, the long prayers when you just wanted to leave, the symposium, and the baptism talk because you heard it three times a year anyways and it was right before lunch. :D
