I think they should dub the video in the scene where Peter Graves asks the young boy, "Have you ever seen a grown man naked?" and edit in a W.T. and Awake in his hand.

What TV shows couldn't you watch as a JW Kid?
by WTLies inwe had a whole list of shows we were not allowed to watch including 'speed racer', you'll never guess why.
it was beacuse in the theme song it says "he's a demon on wheels" but then my mother was a jw fanatic lol.

I was not restricted when I became a JW in my late teens, but that was when "Star Wars" first came out. It was summer and a bunch of us went to the Drive-In and sat on the hoods of our cars. Of course there were several Elders with their families to keep an eye on us. After the movie was over there was a lot of talk between the Elders about "THE FORCE" and what it really ment.

My Story
by Lemon_Lime infirst off, i want to give prop's to "dantheman"......that post inspired me to share my experience, and thanks to everyone that responded to my first post under "desperately seeking"....that was a nice welcome.
this might ramble ..... i was born and bred into the borg....my dad was/is an elder, i had a big family, two older sisters, three younger bro's....i was baptized at 15 (i'm 25 now) and tried to pioneer...give talks...have repsonsibilities...but the wrong feeling that had been welling up in my stomach and kept getting stronger as time went on.. when i moved away from my hometown at 17, my life really started to change.....i met an awesome girl (another jw)....and we fell in love pretty quickly...and i also left home and got my own apt.
(much to my fathers sadness).

Anybody Still Searching For The Truth???
by minimus in.
or is it something unattainable or not even real?

I feel that all religions are cults in one way or another. The big question that I have been wondering is the validity of the bible itself. I have discovered that the bible as we know of it today was actually compiled several centuries after Christ and that there were books that have been lost through time or discarded during the assembly of it. I feel that the true meaning of God's word has been lost. If that is the case, then what is the real "TRUTH"?

Witnesses come a knockin.........
by freedom96 ini have mentioned before how disappointed i was that in the years that i have been in business, the witnesses have done their business territory around me, but don't call on my place of business.
now, they have no idea who i am, so they have no reason not to come.. well, yesterday they came.
what sucks is that i was not there!

Well Freedom96,
I recieved a call at work on my cell phone from my wife. She has been in this country only 12 years and does not understand the different groups that go house to house. She knows not to answer the door to strangers, so she waited till they left the steps and called me. She said there was a man and woman and she had a big bag. She then asked if they were Mormons. (Last time she called she said there were 2 young men outside that looked like funeral directors!) I then explained that Mormons are usually young men with black suits. These 2 must be JW's and I asked her to look outside the door. As she put down the phone it realized that this is October and tract month. Low and behold she started reading "Would you like to know about the bible?". Yup those were them I said.
As much as I love my wife, I get a kick out her broken English and watching others trying to communicate with her. She actually has fun too! It took me years to understand her! My dream is to sit in the other room and listen to a couple of JW's old ladies pull their hair out in frustration and run out the house, while my wife runs after them yelling "Me no understand! Me no understand".
Ha ha, boy I am bad.

What do I get for posting this?
by ballistic inok this is my 2000th post.
i've got no idea if it has a new title or not, or if anyone gives a sh*t, but i just want to say what a wonderful 2000 it's been.
well, i don't know if it's been wonderful for you judging by the nature of posts such as this, but it certainly has been a most 'upbuilding' experience for me at least.

This is Tract Month! You should be getting a friendly visit from local KH members and being handed the "Would You Like To Know More About The Bible?" tract. I am sure they will give you a copy of a WT. I hope you find what you need.
