How stupid were we??

its unbelievable to me that one verse in the bible blows up the entire jw dogma and its amazing to me that with all this bible reading we jw's did we missed it.

even faders and people who quit for many reasons missed it.

what verse am i talking about it verse 9 of chapter 5 of revelations.

Revelation 7:4 states in relation to the 144,000

Revelation 7:9 states regarding the great crowd

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb

John in this vision only heard the number sealed as being 144,000 and from which tribes of Israel they came from (being 12,000 out of 12 tribes of Israel but if Israel here means mankind in general then what do the individual tribes represent?) He did not see them at this stage.

After John heard the number he then states that he saw a great multitude which no man could number. If we saw a crowd of 144,000 we would not be able to count them either, we would have to set up some type of procedure in order to do this but just by looking at that many people it would be beyond us to count them.

This suggests that it was most likely the same group.

It would be very interesting to read what was in their reports. As JWs they could never recommend the provision of blood, even at a reduction, under any circumstances. So their reports could not show that reductions should be made here or there, their only conclusion would be that there should be no provision of blood.

I wonder if the two JWs mentioned this before they were selected.

what can i tell my 5yr old grandson as to why i do not attend meetings anymore?

my reasons are (among others) the insanity of armageddon.

at the last meeting that i attended the travelling bro compared gehazi's sin (for which his progeny down to great grandchildren were stricken with leprosy) with materialism.. thanks..

I am wondering if you can give us a little more background. Is you son or daughter a JW and have you faded or been disfellowshipped? The reason being is that you may need to be careful as to what you should say to your grandson, his parents may get very upset if you say too much to him. Also, is your grandson asking you questions?

It is sounding like the position of COBE is more desireable to have in this class distinctive organization and goes along with the reason the org is giving for this change. They want others to reach out for this title. It is a men's club after all.

Villagegirl, I guess I just don't understand you. You said that he was often drinking and now you say that you saw him have one drink. I wouldn't be surprised if you now said 'but I didn't actually say what he was drinking and I didn't mean to imply it was alcohol.

No, I don't know what you have done to help others and it is often people who are outspoken that stand up for others. These guys have done nothing to you and are only trying hard to help others and then you attack them with suggestions about overdrinking. How they affect you is your personal business but there is no need to be offensive regardless of how opinionated and verbose you are.

Thank you for the apology but it's not me whom you should be apologizing to.

I think the title of the video can be misunderstood. It is not an update about the new arrangement but it is an update to their original video regarding the new arrangement and what is happening in the congregations. This is how the couple work, they deal with a subject and later on give an update of current happenings within the organization.

Mike and Kim may not be for everyone and these days there is so much choice out there to consider TTATT. It is disappointing to see people criticize them when they themselves have done virtually nothing in comparison to this couple in trying to help others.

They work well together and are a pleasure to listen to. I thank them for their dedication, insight and constructive work that they do.

That is a very nasty thing to say Villagegirl about Mike when you said

Often drinking???? And to suggest that they are muddlying up the issues because of this is below the belt. Would you like someone to come along and say such things about you? I can only think that your comments are made to stir up trouble. Among the other nasty comments you made you say they are irrelevant. Really? They are talking about JWs and that is exactly what they do. Then you say that listening to them is like having evenings where you want to leave or just kill yourself. I am afraid that if that is the case then you have some real problems and should seek professional help.

You would be right Inside KH. This is all coming from the Governing Body, the Branch Office is just the Office where the congregations send their money. We may as well point our fingers in the correct direction.
