  Are they really that stupid

  i was recently approached by a couple of borg drones while i was walking my dog, and i thought why not, may plant a seed or two (how wrong was i).

  there was no real logic to what they were saying but as i was in the local park the conversation started to veer to how wonderful nature was and how this was the work of a wonderful creator.

  i did not let on i was a former witness and let them continue with their fairy tale of creation and how the vast multitude of animals shows a loving god at work blah blah blah...... but i digress, the converastion then turned to how evolution was false.. apparently to earth is only a few thousand years old, so i mentioned about the burgess shale, to be met with blank stares.

(Psalm 83:18) For example, section 1 states that God “created heaven and earth over a period of six days.” Genesis 1:1, however, simply says: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” After that, the original account describes further acts of creation involving the earth, lasting six “days,” or periods of time. Then, Genesis 2:4 sums up the entire period of creation, calling it “the day that Jehovah God made earth and heaven.”

  The first part of Genesis indicates that the earth could have existed for billions of years before the first Genesis “day,” though it does not say for how long.

  the annual meeting of the governing body of jehovah's witnesses will be in october 2014.. .. in november 2013, just after the last one they published this now famous statement in the 15th of november 2013 watchtower page 16 paragraph 17 says:.

  "at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.

  all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.".

  Here's a quote from the September 2014 WT where they are using the preaching work to demonstrate that they have the Truth. Are there any hints here for possible changes?

Jehovah’s Witnesses are clearly identified by their house-to-house ministry and by their preaching on the streets, sometimes using display tables and mobile literature carts.

  8 More than 2,900 translators have received specialized training to translate the Bible and Bible literature. Their work is certainly not limited to what might be considered major languages. Their efforts include hundreds of languages that are not widely known but that are, nevertheless, spoken by millions of people. For example, in Spain millions of Catalonians speak their native language, Catalan, on a daily basis. In recent times especially, there has been a resurgence of Catalan and its variations in Andorra, Alicante, the Balearic Islands, and Valencia.   The next few paragraphs rattle on about the translation work. When they reduced the size of the magazines their reasoning was because they would then be able to translate them into more languages.

  They make this statement - "doing their utmost to spread Christ’s message in well over 600 languages, with more to come!". Notice their exclamation mark. For some reason they are focusing on their translation work but it is puzzlying as to why they would close so many branches.

  Jehovah’s Witnesses are clearly identified by their house-to-house ministry and by their preaching on the streets, sometimes using display tables and mobile literature carts.

  One would think that they always had display tables and literature carts but this statement also shows that the focus is being taken off the house to house work.

  Chautauqua Salute makes a comeback at the Indianapolis Regional convention 7/13/14

  as the regional convention ended in indianapolis, mark sanderson invited all the international delegates to come out onto the field for the final song.

  as they walked out, they all held a white handkerchief aloft as they waved.

  some in the audience waved a white cloth in return.

  It just won't happen. Fortunately females have much more of a voice these days and children now have much more protection, I am sure the two would be related.

  What is the "new" date JWs are "hinting" at for Armaggeddon?

  after the 1975 "we did not say point blank armaggeddon was coming we only suggested it might come" fiasco what is the new date jws are "hinting" at for armaggeddon?

  i know now they do not point to any specific date but hint that maybe it might occur such as before 2000 the preaching work will be finished.

  this is a suggestion not a prediction so they can wiggle out of this one.

  first of all i want to express my sincere gratitude to atlantis and his good friends for making this 2014 book available.. ------------.

  as i see it, and i am absolutely open to contradiction, the wts appears to be giving another new meaning to this generation.

  this time the term means all of his anointed followers, including his immediate disciples.

  With the recent new light, at least the older JWs now believe that they will remain married to their spouses after resurrection in the new world and they will still be either female or male. The GB does give them some things at times.

  I'm sorry but i've gone past seeing the funny side to this. There are a number of ex JWs that believe the WTBTS is involved in a so called coming of a New World Order. It sounds like the writer of this blog is also an ex JW.

  It's even been discussed on this forum a number of times. Some believe in the idea that Russell was connected to the Freemasons and that the WTBTS still is. They also believe that the WTBTS is part of the Illuminati. Both these things have been said to be driving the push for a One World Government.

  For a time the WTBTS tried to distance itself from using the term One World Government or the New World Order. It is disturbing that they brought out this pamphlet using that term.

  They are talking about Jesus but this just demonstrates how deceptive they can be in order to capture the interest of others.

  God's kingdom is not a Wordly Government it is a heavenly rulership. I knew there was something that disturbed me about the phrase that they use (One World Government) but couldn't put my fingure on it until your post.

  Problem is that when the organization gets too tricky with their talk this is the fallout.

  rape is defined as unlawful sexual intercourse without the womans consent, effected by force, duress, intimidation, or deception as to the nature of the act.. .

  what is really disturbing about this definition is that rape apparently only happens when there is a woman involved.

  What is really disturbing about this definition is that rape apparently only happens when there is a woman involved. There is no mention of children or males.

  When you read their articles on rape the majority of the time they are discussing women being raped and then apply the counsel that they need to scream. They use the laws under the old law covenant to substantiate this. They really have a one eyed view on this.

  I am wondering if they tell children to scream when they unfortunately find themselves in bad situations?

  If you asked a JW female what is the first thing you would do if you were being molested I am sure they would immediately respond with 'I would scream'. I wonder if this is the first thing a JW child would say, I doubt it but why is that?

  I am not supporting their view of screaming as being the most important thing to do in order to show your innocence but it concerns me that once again, there is a double standard.

  I wonder if this will become commonplace. It is very ceremonial and reminds me of the Catholic Church.

  It would be interesting to find out the reasoning as to why it was originally dropped as a practice by the JWs.
