This comes from a Bethel morning worship presented by G Jackson and is shown in the Oct. monthly broadcast with the question "Are Elders taking the lead or are they leaders?" It's at the 40 minute mark. The purpose of his talk appears to be in demonstrating the beauty of their translation over many others, including the KJV and to tell Elders that their role was to take the lead rather than be leaders.
Re Luke 22:26, he states that "obviously, to take the lead means to do the work, to be a minister, to be a servant, to serve others" He then explains, it doesn't mean sitting on the sidelines barking out the orders but it means being involved.
He explains there is another 'subtlety in the revision' regarding taking the lead and is at 1 Tim 3:1 He says "it's not the office or the position of being an overseer that is something people reach out for but it's rather the work. The hard work that needs to be done by an overseer. An overseer needs to recognize that he needs to work hard as setting the right example and then others will follow, rather than just telling everyone what they should do."
He concludes by saying "So the text reminds Elders what they need to do, not sitting on the sidelines barking out orders but rather, to take the lead, to be in the forefront, do the work and then others will follow our example, just as we follow the example of Jesus."
At no time does he explain that Jesus is our leader but rather he says that he was taking a lead in the preaching work. His concluding comments reflect the same idea, otherwise how can Elders follow his example if he is the leader, rather than taking the lead?
IMHO I didn't think it was a very nice way of Jackson to explain that a leader is one who 'sits on the sidelines barking out orders'. Who does he think has this role within their organization?
Given that he was personally 'barking out orders' by telling Elders what role they had, is it really the Governing Body that is barking out the orders as they sit on the sidelines?

No, there is nothing special on this weekend. The Annual meeting will be on and goes for over 3 and a half hours. They'll be singing a new song in praise of their new headquarters and most monies collected are specifically for the Watchtower.

They equate the giving of money to the Watchtower as giving it to Jehovah or even back to Jehovah. It is so slanderous. God doesn't need money.
Since some of this his money is being used to compensate abuse victims then the are as good as saying that Jehovah is making this payment to them. Why would he do that when he had nothing to do with their wrongdoings.

marriage"equality" survey, Australia.
by zeb inthe australian govt has set out a survey to see if people are in favour of changing the marriage act to include same sex couples.. hm here have received their papers?
the survey promises to be anonymous but has a substantial bar code at the bottom... anonymous yeah right.. the marriage act once said "two people" then a previous prime minister changed it to say "man and woman" all that is needed to amend this situation as required by the gay community is change it back again to "two people" there, done and dusted.. and millions of dollars need not be wasted on this survey which is not compulsory as is voting in australia.
can anyone here who still goes to kh tell us if this has had a ruling from the platform?.

The results will provide the government with an idea of what the public's views are. It is basically a survey.
There could be no biblical reason why JWs should not express there opinion, rather it would be a good opportunity for them to express it. For this reason, I don't think the org. Wants to make an official policy. It would confuse the JWs no end if the org said they could lodge their form.
It's not compulsory.
It's likely that the majority of Australians will vote yes but it will be interesting to see because they chose to gather opinions through a postal vote and not online, like they did for the recent statistics. Younger Australians rarely use the post, whilst older ones are comfortable with it. It's the younger Australians that are more likely to want same sex marriage.
In Australia, we have to post our letters at a post office or in a red box found occasionally on the side of a road. It's not all that convenient.

Apparently they are the only men fulfilling that role, so it must be them.
Humbly, they dont take on this role individually, rather, their individual power has been watered down to one seventh but only if they attend their scheduled Wednesday gathering at Watchtower headquarters.
Only when they are right is it God's direction, when they are wrong it is from their human imperfection. How do we know the difference? Time will tell and then we know for certainty that if they were right, it was God's direction and if they were wrong it was their own imperfect direction. So we ought to stick with them because it will eventually sort itself out, sometime in the future.

"During the great tribulation, Christians will rely on Jehovah and not try to defend themselves."
They've gone mad. In the bunker video they opened the door voluntarily to armed men. Are the Elders being asked to keep contacts of everyone to make it easier for officials to find them? It's strange that they huddled together in one spot, unarmed and willing to not defend themselves.
During the so called 'GT' all the Government needs to do is issue a demand for all JWs to go to a specified place and as law abiding citizens, they'll come running.
