The sacred book is now the sacred e-book but I guess they were once scrolls.

Here is what silly looks like
by Sour Grapes infor shits and grins, i looked at an online sunday meeting a few days ago on youtube.
i was in disbelieve on just how silly everything looks with the watchtower reader reading from his little iphone and the watchtower conductor holding up his iphone to ask the questions.
then the conductor asked the reader to read a bible verse and of course, he reads from his little phone.

Little Gems From the November 2018 Study Watchtower
by The Fall Guy inquickly glanced through it and noticed these bits of "food at the proper time.
i'll leave the lap-dancing comment on page 25, par.
12 and the "how to give us more money" item on pages 28,29,30,31,32 for others to pick up on... page 16, par.

Thanks for sharing the highlights from the Watchtower The Fall Guy.
Page 21, par. 13 - “The faithful and discreet slave” does not exercise control over the thoughts of individuals, and neither do the elders.
I was flabbergasted that they wrote this since it's very much what they are trying to do. They want the JW to think that their thoughts are their own and not dictated by the organization. This again just comes down to controlling their thoughts by trying to suggest that they don't do it.
They are being bombarded with comments from ex JWs and observers, tellingg them that they are in a controlling cult and all the FDS can come up with is to tell the JWs that they aren't controlling them, without anything to support this position.
This is supported by the previous comment that you wrote from the article.Page 18, par. 1 - “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, because you think, not God’s thoughts, but those of men.” (Matt. 16:21-23)
So JW's have not to think about the thoughts of (8) men????????
They will not acknowledge that often times it is their thoughts (mens) that are being put forward through their publications. One just has to read any Watchtower to see how they continually speculate about things and make suggestions as to how the individual should view things. They are outside and additional to what is written in the Bible.
Once again, they are suggesting that their words are the words of God, their information is coming from God, not men's and not of this world under the influence of Satan.
If they want to play that game then since our imperfection is born from Satan then anytime they err, it is not from God but from Satan. Therefore their 'old light' and their damaging policies are from Satan, not God.Page 31, QFR - Jesus counseled his apostles not to seek a position of prominence among their fellow believers
So he did. Then why does the GB print their life stories in the pages of the Watchtower and why do they publish photo's of themselves? Why do they televise themselves before 8 million followers even though their quality as speakers is extremely poor? There must be hundreds a JWs who are much better speakers than them and there must be thousands, if not millions of JWs who could stand before a camera, reading a script verbatim as well as them. Amusingly, they even read sectioons of the Bible for their online audio version. -

i was told that the borg posted this as an ad (psa, perhaps?
) on national tv here in the usa.. any thoughts?.

It's been suggested in the past that the org. prepares these in the hope that some station picks it up as a Public Service Announcement and televises it for free, just like they do with newspaper articles regarding conventions.

Zeb, if listening to it is stressful for you then you are being sensible by not watching it. Sorry to hear that you are going through a difficult time and I hope matters improve.
Please be assured that none of the three individuals on the broadcast treat the matter in a flippant way.

An excellent interview. I still can't believe that Angus was chosen to handle the JWs at the RC, th case study could not have been handled an better.
He cannot see the organization changing but encourages us to shine the light on them.

Why go back to the Old Testament?
by Lost in the fog inwhy do jws insist on still quoting from the old testament to back up some of their wacky ideas?
such as on blood, beards, abortion, tattoos, etc.
surely if the mosaic law code was nailed to the torture stake all of its parts were cancelled.

My understanding is that although they are not under the strict letter of the law, they use the principle established through the law to guide their way of thinking.
