  • is it all right to buy a church building for use as a kingdom hall or, when a new kingdom hall is built, to sell the former hall for use as a church?

  one of the latest wts rehashes this core jw theology.

  i know it's old hat, but i feel it's always worth pointing out, as it's one of the major things to wake me up and it's relatively easily proven using the bible alone.. throughout the bible, there aremany examples of men of faith who re-ceived holy spirit; yet, they did not havethe hope of living in heaven.

  john the baptistwas “filled with holy spirit.” (luke 1:13-16) jesus said that there was no mangreater than john, but then he said thatjohn would not be included in the heav-enly kingdom.

  Bobcat - In WT theology, the GB are the only sure 'anointed' (i.e. rulers). Anyone else who partakes or claims to be 'anointed' is only accepted as such on a wait-and-see basis. They are true Pharisees. (Jn 11:47-50)
  
  

  
  When a member of the GB die, it is announced through the Watchtower that the individual has received their heavenly reward. For all others, their anointing is only between him and God.

  i had it confirmed today that 5 kingdom halls on one site in new addington are for sale.

  price being asked £3.5 million.. every witness in london worked on that site.

  am in shock.

  Gersonhite - It has to be sold for religious use only and the homes where some JW's live cannot be part of the sale as they are owned by individuals but the WTBTS can offer to buy them out. So far an Islamic group and a Hindu group are interested in it.

  Kim and Mike did a YouTube on this and Paul, the caretaker a couple of days ago.

  It would be interesting to hear this story in whole.

  The Watchtower was not allowed to own any houses in this property as it was registered for religious purposes only. The houses that were in the property were owned by Elderly JWs including Paul, the caretaker but the Watchtower could ask them to sell their properties to the Watchtower Trust and include them in the sale to make it more attractive to prospective buyers, if they agreed. Paul did not want this to happen and Kim reported that he gets to keep his property. Also the wall the Watchtower erected was found to be illegal.

  jw.org now has articles, videos, and audio content available in 1,000 languages, including 100 sign languages..

  Wiki states that as of October 2019 the Bible has been translated into a total of 698 languages.

  The Watchtower has only contributed a small amount of these translations, I can't find an exact amount but it looks like it is under 200.

  The Watchtower, knowing Jehovah's will has decided he wants their publications to be available in a far greater amount than the Divine Word. They show such insight and wisdom.

  Canadians and Europeans, what do you think of your national health care ?

  we have been in a battle over health care for so long here in the us regarding public, private, gov't subsidized, obama care, medicare for all, and just about every permutation of the above.. we hear the horror stories here that people wait 20 years for a check-up (ok, bit of an exaggeration), but you get the point.

  one side tells us that canadians flock across the border when they are sick and need to see a doctor.

  the other side says that is simply not the case.. so tell us, if you live under one of the government systems would you replace it?

  My husband and I visited the UK four years ago as tourists from Australia.
  
  I needed to see a Doctor and went to a local clinic in London. What a shocker, there were one or two people abusing staff and Doctors. It was a very unpleasant place.
  
  I was told there was absolutely no way they could give me an appointment, either that day or within the next few weeks. My only choice was to go to a public hospital emergency department so we did.
  
  I had travel insurance but was told that due to the reciprocal arrangement there would be no cost unless I was hospitalized and then expected to use my travel insurance (even though the reciprocal arrangement provides free medical care as an inpatient which I didn't know at the time). This reciprocal arrangement exists between the UK and several countries and is constantly changing.
  
  I was very impressed with the hospital, staff and treatment. The initial general examination was incredibly thorough, more so than we receive here in Australia. Five scripts were filled out, at no cost, at the hospital as the Doctor said it was the easiest way to see me through until I returned to Australia.
  
  Being a reciprocal arrangement means that UK residents can receive necessary medicare treatment when they visit Australia and some other Countries.

  Publisher ID - I Saw It In Person & It Was Terrifying!

  i'd like to start off this post by saying, we all know that the wt loves control.

  it's clear by their history, their wt's, the elder arrangement and so on.

  however, after witnessing and using the publish id program in person, it takes this need for control to a whole new level & it was scary.. if you've ever seen builder assist (the website program used for ldc volunteers) or the metro program, it actually looks pretty similar to that.

  Hotels Deny Watchtower Discount Rates For 2020 Regional Conventions

  the wtbts is not being given special room rates by 2 major hotels at the long beach convention center area for the upcoming 2020 regional conventions & wt is t'd off.

  letters are being read in surrounding circuits and congregations.

  apparently wt is afraid that other hotels are going to blackball them as well.. has anyone else heard this?
