There is no threat to sue in the letter written, rather it pointed out that what they were doing was illegal.
Putting a copyright on the bible is shocking.
examining the scriptures daily.
interesting.

sooo.
is it jehovah we pray to or our father.
after all this time and they seem unsure.
" Jehovah is our Father in the sense that he is the Source of our life." They must have some difficulty in writing about God being our father because for the majority of JWs they are not his sons and daughters.
i just commented on another thread about the 144000 and thought it deserved a thread of it`s own seeing how important their appointment is .. those who are selected to rule with christ jesus in heaven are given immortality.
if you or i were selected to survive armaggedon we would not be given immortality , so obviously they are considered a cut above the rest of humanity.. so my question is ,why doesnt jehovah`s spirit directed organization on earth give these people the respect and dignity that jehovah god is going to bestow on them in the future , while they are yet present on earth , instead of ignoring them , and treating them as a lesser class of person than a pioneer ,ministerial servant, or elder.. and suggesting they may be influenced by prior beleifs or have mental problems doesnt say much for their bible education instruction , after all these are dedicated baptized publishers who are counted as the annointed remnant.. smiddy.
"A number of factors - including past religious beliefs or even mental or emotional imbalance - might cause some to assume mistakenly that they have the heavenly calling." It is hard not to conclude that any person could be absolutely sure that they are anointed. We are all influenced to varying degrees by past experiences and our own mental and emotional feelings. All of us are imperfect which means that even our mental and emotional feelings are going to let us down. It's funny that they talk about past religious beliefs as being a major factor in influencing a person because the fact is that the JWs teaching that the anointed just know they are anointed is a current teaching and that may persuade the JW to believe he is.
i hope people think this is funny and not offensive.
creating it amused me for a few days.. .
Your questions for each paragraph were amusing and No. 5 was very funny becausse it reminds me of the stupid questions the WTBTS ask and also how they engage in their manipulating methods - "5. At the end of this wicked system of things, how many goats will there be and what should Jehovah's servants do with them?"
Thanks Perry and thanks tornapart for the link. I can't express how much I appreciate it when others help me to see bible truths much clearer.
Part of that post found on the link (written by 'Barich') states
"............. 6 On the night that Jesus instituted the Memorial of his death, he told his faithful apostles: “You are the ones that have stuck with me in my trials; and I make a covenant with you, just as my Father has made a covenant with me, for a kingdom, that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones to judge the twelve tribes of Israel.” (Luke 22:28-30) Jesus here referred to a special covenant that he made with his 144,000 spirit-begotten brothers, who would remain “faithful even to death” and prove themselves ‘conquerors.’—Revelation 2:10; 3:21.
7 Those of this limited group forgo all hopes of living forever on earth as humans of flesh and blood. They will reign with Christ in heaven, sitting on thrones to judge humankind. (Revelation 20:4, 6) Let us now examine other scriptures that apply only to these anointed ones and that show why the “other sheep” do not partake of the Memorial emblems.—John 10:16. —w06 2/15 p. 22 Gathering Things in Heaven and Things on Earth Contrary to what the above Watchtower states, Jesus did not make a "covenant for a kingdom" with his disciples, although he definitely is the mediator of the "new covenant." (Heb. 9:15) According to Luke's account, on the night when Jesus celebrated the last Passover with his disciples and instituted the memorial of his death, he mentioned the new covenant when he took the cup and handed it to them saying: "This cup means the new covenant (διαθ?κη, di·a·the′ke) by virtue of my blood, which is to be poured out in your behalf." (Luke 22:20) But when Jesus promised the kingdom to his faithful disciples a moment later, he did not use the word "covenant. That the word "covenant" (διαθ?κη, di·a·the′ke) does not appear at Luke 22:29 is acknowledged in the New World Translation Reference Bible (Rbi8), for it omits the Scripture from the 33 places where the word covenant does appear in the Greek Scriptures. Here is what it says in the Appendix, page 1584: ........."
last week i met an ex circuit overseer in brisbane, queensland, australia.. when asking why he left, the instant response was: "the control"..
It would be interesting to read some JW history from that perspective.
what does the bible really teach?
using only the bible, can you prove - 1. who the 'other sheep' are?
2. the context of john 10:16?
DJ Eggnog
The interpretations we teach today are based on the conclusions we've reached over many years of studying the Bible and what things we teach include many things on which we can only speculate, which things help us to formulate predictions as to what things the future holds for mankind .
Usually any person making predictions claims they are able to do so by some higher power or authority. Here, I understand you to say that the authority for predictions made by JWs is based on their speculation after careful study of God's word.
the letter leaked today on "confidentiality" had an infurating set of paragraphs on suicides, attempted suicides, and threatened suicides.
here is the excerpt.. suicides and attempted or threatened suicides.
20. at times, judicial committees may deal with someone who is so distraught that he attempts.
At best they are to 'suspend' a hearing and not even consider whether the hearing is baseless or frivilous and the issue could be dealt with in a much better way.
looks like there's a new series, "they offered themselves willingly".
here's how it opens:.
a young brother in italy was under pressure.
Further, talk to your Christian parents and the congregation elders about your desire
Here they are telling young ones not to talk to their non-christian parents. How much respect is that showing for them? You realize they have gone way off track when they are not teaching good bible morals, there is no stipulation in the bible when it advises to 'honor your mother and father'.
Regardless of whether a child's parent is a JW or not, most still have their children's best interest at heart and can provide sensible advice, no doubt a reason why they wouldn't want them talking to them.
i just read this in our local newspaper this morning and thought it is very interesting.
this law is aimed at door to door marketing by companies but i am wondering if this may end up including religious 'sales persons'.
the comments below the story are worth reading as jw's and religious callers are definitely who many people want stopped under this new law.. .
For a number of years now Australians have been able to register their phone number on a 'do not call' register. This means any salesperson is not able to call that number. Non profit organizations seeking donations and companies calling only for research purposes are still allowed to phone. JWs do not see themselves as sales people.
