  Nearly Lost It at Work

  i've made no secret that i do not like the place or the people where i work.. i've had to borrow money to get my drums/brakes fixed.

  i dropped my car off this morning before work.

  i hesitantly spoke to one of the bosses (female that is so irritating) asking if i could please go pick up the car once they phoned to say it was ready - if i could use the time i usually took for lunch.

  If the employee has a scheduled meal break it is none of the employers business where they go as long as they are back at the scheduled time.

  I wanted to punch this elder so bad!

  so i decided to attend the meeting last.

  since i haven't gone in about 2 weeks, and i leave as soon as it ends, and elder decided to corner me at the end.

  lately i've been through some very depressing family issues that are non-jw related so i haven't been my best at acting like i care about the org.

  What do you mean?! I ALWAYS go to the beach after service and wear long pants and button up shirts while I play a game in the sand with my family! Sometimes I wear button up long sleeve shirts too!

  What does 100 calories look like?

  have you ever marvelled, as i have, at the marketing genius that sells us less food for more money?

  the marketer who came up with the "100 calorie" packaging ploy deserves a consumer's medal.

  i am recording my own 100 calorie snack wonders, that are balanced for a diabetic (carb, protein, and roughage).

  cholesterol is a complex issue. One test doesn't mean much. Kind of like blood pressure. Doctors tend to make everything black and white based on a single test.

  Nothing wrong with adjusting ones diet. Can't hurt, I suppose, unless you are an obsessive compulsive person. If there are other health issues that are related to bad C or High BP then by all means make changes.

  I personally would caution people not to start taking statins based on one or two cholesterol tests.

  Lost - may I ask what your care person called "slightly high" ?

  The country may be going through a transition into a more pure form of socialism. This is polarizing the country. Conservatives feel the libs are simply misguided, the libs take the position that conservatives are evil. This is a bad starting point for partisan compromise. Polls indicate a pretty balanced split in the two factions. Looks like a long haul. Civil war? It's already here. No muskets needed.
