New Kingdom Hall contribution boxes announced
by yadda yadda 2 inphoto snaffled directly from stephen lett's desk.
the society has received a lot of letters complaining about c t russell having been demoted from being a member of the faithful and discreet slave.
in response to that, the society will be announcing at the forthcoming agm that the new modern style contribution boxes will be installed worldwide from 1 january 2014 especially to mark the 100th anniversary of jesus' invisible kingdom rule from 1914 and to give due recognition and honour to brother russell for his invaluable contribution in revealing this identifying feature of the true religion, which all truth-loving jw's continue to cherish and boldly preach.

clever, dog!
Sadly, if these were actually implemented they would bring in mucho dinero.
I will always remember the special communique read one night at the Service Meeting. The gist of it was that WE had an opportunity to buy the Squibb Building adjacent to the Brooklyn holy ground, 117 Adams St.
But Jehovah would lead our hearts in the way we should go.
They paid cash for the Squibb Building in a matter of weeks.
Sold it for a small fortune, considering it had been a gift from the rank & file.

Just this simple fact of life is proof of God....
by EndofMysteries ini'll be curious for any alternative plausible explanations for this...... .
every lifeform on earth, humans, plants, bacteria, cells, anything with life originated with other life.
all trees come from living seeds from other trees, etc.

Some intelligent force had to mix up the batter and heat the pan to cook the pancake, IN THE FIRST PLACE!
Then some intelligent force had to put the pancake on the rabbits head. The rabbit could not have managed it on its own.
If this isn't proof of a pancake loving God with a rabbit, what else is it?

wt 8/15/03: Easing Nature - Is it for Christians?
by Scully ineasing nature is it for christians?
easing nature the very phrase itself brings to mind the odious product of this activity.
yet, many people have the understanding that this natural bodily function is a practice in which true christians may engage.

RE Saul going into a cave to 'bury his feet'. To correct my previous post about my first Bible reading, it was from 1 Samuel, not Numbers and it was the American Standard version, not the KJ.

Does it show a deplorable lack of faith to have a bucket list?
by compound complex inas a baby boomer making the best of every day, i have a casual list of things i want to do before i, well .
we all know about the promises made, and, gee whiz, i want to be a good and faithful boy.
but i'm beginning to wonder if i should buy a few more baskets to put my eggs in.

OK, CoCo.
I perceive what you are getting at.
You want to go skydiving but are afraid to say so.
Do it, man!
Take your mortality in your own two hands. You will feel like you are experiencing life for the first time!
Please send pics. or arrange to have someone post newspaper clippings.

CoCo - re: your list -
What do see as a real possibility? cost, opportunity, physical ability, how motivated?
Anything on the list you can do vicariously? (I like to read accounts about explorers in dangerous situations)
Your prose, as I recall, doesn't reveal (correct me if I'm wrong) any "bucket list" longings.

The Two Governing Bodies
by Londo111 ini remember when a gb member spoke at a circuit assembly, how the society would not pick him up for the airport unless he was dressed in a suit.
i found it a strange thing to say, because i believed him in charge.
but he was not.. of course, this is common knowledge, but im mostly typing this to make sense of it:.

The policy requiring the GB members to dress like important business men, even when flying, is nothing but sheer public relations. Image, image, image. Shallow bunch of phonies. Very impressed with their 'importance'.
I flew to dozens of business engagements. Never once do I recall a need to be wearing a tie, etc. because travel days were never meeting/work days.
