WHY have District Conventions??

so i started thinking... we have an assembly hall in our town?

The large gatherings have a huge impact on people. The sacrifices made to be there just magnifies the experience. It has worked like a charm as a shot in the arm, (hey, that rhymes!) since my first convention in Cedar Point Ohio when I was still in diapers. I have some clandestine E-contact with a JW relative and every year she goes quiet with me after the DC. This usually blows over shortly after getting back to the cold stark reality of waiting for the big A.

Can others verify this statement in the script? (I know from being in a drama years ago that the audio is all recorded by big brother and pantomimed by the locals.)
I hope it is true. Regardless of the ensuing dialogue (which probably blisters the paint off anyone lurking on XJW sites) this is a shocking insight into the current state of things in the cult.

Idle question about Abraham and Human Sacrifice
by corpusdei ini don't have my usual resources in front of me, so i can't fact check this, but there's been something bothering me.
one of the things mentioned quite often as evidence of the wickedness and evil practices of the false religion that surrounded ancient israel is the practice of child sacrifice (baal and molech being the frontrunners as i recall).
but ...... didn't god tell abraham to kill his own son isaac as a human sacrifice?
