Had a tot of my favorite budget Scotch, Teacher's. It's good enough for me!
drunk to liqour store clerk - "Do you skell sotch here?"
as some of you know, i am employed as master of whisky for seattle (pac nw).
i represent diageo n america's whisk(e)y portfolio.. this includes: johnnie walker, the classic malts of scotland, bushmills irish whiskey, crown royal, bulleit bourbon and rye whiskey, george dickel tennessee whisky, and bucchanan's blended scotch whisky.. my job basically involves speaking publicly about the whiskies, hosting and presenting whisk(e)y tastings and dinners, and educating bar & restaurant staff about whisk(e)y. tough gig, i know.. my mow bio & pic can be found on crown royal's website here: http://www.crownroyal.com/west-masters/breck-taylor.
i was thinking about putting a featured whisky of the week up here every friday.

is this a fair question to put to jehovah / yahweh or whoever ?
in all sincerity i do not mean any disrespect to any beleivers in the god of the bible, but this is a truly remarkable age with communication advances incomparable with 2000 years ago , if the creator or jesus christ were truly interested in giving everybody the chance of everlasting life , wouldn`t they be giving people the opportunity to hear a more current up to date warning now ?
and not relying on messages in languages that are not in use today and are subject to so many different interpretations ?.
Always amazed and amused at these serious discussions of Flying Spaghetti Monster questions.
I absolutely agree that the least HE could do is Tweet something, for Christs sake!
i used to love watching tv when i was a kid.
for some reason not so much anymore.
here are three of my favorites.
After school, Soupy Sales.
Evening, Gunsmoke, Peter Gunn, The Untouchables, The Adventures of Zorro, The Naked City ("There are a million stories in the Naked City, this is one of them..." or as I liked to say, "There are a million titties in the Naked Story, this is two of them...") We had a book study at a home where the brother would not miss "Naked City"... the TV went on as soon as the "amen".
judicial committee preparation .
today i added a new article to my blog offering practical recommendations for individuals invited to attend a judicial committee hearing as an accused, and for those who then choose to attend.
it offers an approach that is completely within watchtower policy yet will give reason for any elder or potential witness to take great care moving forward.
A great resource for anyone who feels they are being railroaded by the elders.
If you have committed rape, robbed a liqour store, etc... just take your medicine, you know if you are guilty or just an apostate.
climate 'tech fixes' urged for arctic methane.
by richard black - environment correspondent, bbc news.
an eminent uk engineer is suggesting building cloud-whitening towers in the faroe islands as a "technical fix" for warming across the arctic.. scientists told uk mps this week that the possibility of a major methane release triggered by melting arctic ice constitutes a "planetary emergency".. the arctic could be sea-ice free each september within a few years.. wave energy pioneer stephen salter has shown that pumping seawater sprays into the atmosphere could cool the planet.. the edinburgh university academic has previously suggested whitening clouds using specially-built ships.. at a meeting in westminster organised by the arctic methane emergency group (ameg), prof salter told mps that the situation in the arctic was so serious that ships might take too long.. "i don't think there's time to do ships for the arctic now," he said.. "we'd need a bit of land, in clean air and the right distance north... where you can cool water flowing into the arctic.".
Sizemik, thanks for the approved reading list but I am covered up with homework right now. You are the best!
and bless Besty's heart for hanging in there on his core beliefs. The old evangelical, cut and paste zealot has still got the snark by God and as we know that is all the MM Global Climate Change racket has got.
Seriously, I like both you guys.
i just wanted to say first off thank you all for the warm welcome and kind words.
despite what i've been told by the wbts, i have a hard time believing people in the 'world' are by default bad just because they're non-jws.
so thanks for the kindness.
Go back to the Kingdom Hall and play the game. Ofall the games you've dabbled in, it's as good as any.
If you're determined to be in a 'game', that is.

This would not be cool but I'm sure it would get attention
If I were that Scotsman I would not be dangling my paltry junk where they could be mocked and ridiculed.

This entire thread is a crock of horseshit. Didn't you guys get your fill in the JW cult?
Never mind, have your wallow in "oooo, scary!" and then get up in the mrning, eat your oatmeal (hopefully with pleanty of stewed prunes) and go your diverse ways. See you tomorrow.
i'm surprised at how much is in the watchtower lately and at assemblies warning of apostates.
is it my imagination or is this ramping up a lot lately.
i am a born-in and stopped attending only a few years ago (now in my 40's) but don't remember so much anti-apostate warning as we see now.. the watchtower seems extra obsessed with apostates and the need to warn about them lately.
Isalm is bad stuff

I call it "The Perfect Storm".
After a hundred years of the screwball JW dog and pony show, when they are grasping at straws to play the old "Armageddon is upon us!" card, when their own bedrock doctrines have to be seriously re-worked or outright dis-owned due to simple math, they suddenly become extremely paranoid over criticism. Their fragile bubble of control is now almost solely based on the cruel fist of shunning. ...all this at a time when everyones has private and secret access to information (such as this very site) and un-supervised discussion of the facts.
Man the lifeboats!
